  1. Got stung four times today - they were in a pampas grass I was cutting back 😡 Loads of ant powder unleashed at them and going back tomorrow late evening to pour some more there. Hopefully that’ll do for them as we can’t even rake the garden up till they’re gone
  2. Pics of the whole tree would help as well. Are there any fruiting bodies or brackets of fungus? Missing bark on the trunk? Someone with more knowledge than me will hopefully be along soon 👍
  3. Speckled hen whilst waiting for roast beef to come out of the oven and the dog enjoying his carrot 🥕
  4. Blimey. - a Welshman’s wet dream! 😂
  5. Add yourself to the tip site, make yourself a better proposition than anyone else in your area ie, yea, biscuits, beer tokens etc
  6. My initial thoughts would be - has a neighbour taken a dislike to them? Either intentionally poisoning, or maybe washing paths/patio with harsh chemicals? I’ve also lost a few and suspect the second reason. A toxicology report on trees/soul may help but wouldn’t be cheap. Or maybe just too dry?
  7. Wow that’ll be old then - pre 1990 at least so parts could well be hard to find! Best of luck 👍
  8. Three pans of damson jam on the go this evening. Made 9lbs last week which has come out lovely - set better than last years so the pectin content obviously varies naturally. Should get about 30 jars out of this lot today 👍
  9. The rain was a blessing in that respect- the little buggers weren’t about 👍 There was serious amount of movement in it but all down safely and going back in the week to chip it up
  10. Morning all - wet here so shelving the planned grass cuts. Got this little bugger to get down instead - dead ivy covered castlewellan in imminent danger of taking out the fence and falling into neighbours garden 👍
  11. Old thread resurrection - bringing down a pollarded one tomorrow maybe 15” if memory serves me right. Can cut into liftable sections - limited access to remove it if anyone interested? Happy to swap for nice dark beer 🍺 chelmsford based
  12. Nice straight grained sycamore yesterday and this morning before the heat got too much for me. The winter 2025 store is almost full - another four barrow loads and I’ll be done 👍 All split using X25
  13. Sehr lecker 👍
  14. Yeah I loved his videos - shame he stopped posting on here. perhaps I should have watched that vid before posting 😂😂 should quantify that I loved his machinery vids!
  15. 🤮🤮🤮
  16. Damsons and bramleys doing ok this year - another 7-10 days and I reckon I’ll be making 25 - 40lb of damson jam. Not a single fig this year, redcurrants poor, eating apples ok, few raspberries, courgettes and small yellow cucumbers cropping well. Not much time to do anything else
  17. Titan from Screwfix. I have the polesaw which I run on my km
  18. I use gloss paint, two coats. Still get some splitting but I does reduce the losses
  19. I’ve been given something similar by one of my customers - Coopers of Stortford so read Chinese crap. He never could get it running from new. I can get it to fire and run for a few seconds, then the cylinder fills with fuel and needs draining out. Shan’t waste my time trying to get it fixed - it’ll go on the scrap pile. I’ll stick with my KM + attachments - at least these are repairable
  20. A few years ago a mate of mine moved to Perth and took a container load of possessions with him including his car. This was cleaned extremely thoroughly by a specialist firm before being driven on poly sheeting into the container. He had certification provided that this had been done to the correct specifications. Not sure what other stuff he took and have lost touch so can’t ask him unfortunately
  21. When I see ai used on eBay listings- I just hit return as it sounds crap and if the seller can’t be bothered to write a decent description, I’m out
  22. Depends on what type of hedges, height, width, level of equipment needed ie tripod ladders, long reach cutters, extensions, any chainsaw cuts of thicker bits? Chipping waste or paying to tip? I prefer to give a price for the whole job unless its really big, then a day rate with a best estimate of how many days it should be
