  1. I have the 3/4 inch Teng Tools for the bolts on my 530 and same in 1/2 inch for everything else - easier than some others to read 👍
  2. I use them on the leading pockets on a 360 - they do cut more aggressively when new and are easier to sharpen than multitips. I order by phone rather than through the website as often after ordering on website they are out of stock.
  3. I used Midland Road Springs when I had to change the rears on a previous iveco daily. Got slightly heavier duty than originals. Were good value at the time - not looked recently though
  4. Used The London Saw Company for my last batch of sharpening - all good 👍
  5. He’s a dab hand at it 👍
  6. Everything has an owner so just taking any timber is regarded as theft. if you can find something that the owner wants clearing for free then you may be in luck 👍
  7. Got 70 a ton for light iron this week from EMR so really not worth the bother. Rolled Ali at 700 and household cable at 1770. Only really clear stuff for customers when asked and a couple of mates drop me some non ferrous occasionally. Keeps me ticking over when the weather isn’t conducive to working
  8. Pick and choose the ones you want and price per job. There’s always more waste than you think. We do anything from little half hour trims up to a couple of days - get them right and they can be good earners
  9. Got the x27 and 25 but prefer the 25 for most splitting. The 27 if it’s a bit knottier and then the Stihl Aluminium splitting wedge for nasty stuff
  10. Sorry to see them go as had spent a fair few quid with them. Luckily I’m only about £35 down as after chasing they had delivered all but one item 2 weeks ago from an order I placed early April. Paid via PayPal so will try to claim back from them when I get a few minutes spare
  11. Yeah I read that with horror this morning - some sick ba……s out there. the same should happen to them - see how they like it 😡
  12. I’m not on Facebook but do get a few recommendations on our local community group - no help though till you get a reputation first. Have you tried the Next Door app? You can put your details on there and once a few jobs come your way, customers tend to recommend to others requesting similar types of work. just a thought- I’m sure others will be along with good ideas as well 👍
  13. Seen loads round here mid Essex - some really big ones as well that’ll have to come down sooner or later. took a relatively small 30ft leaner out yesterday- 60% of it brown. When I priced it a month ago it was just for reduction and dead sections removal but it had declined so much by the time we got to it that owner decided it had to go. Had to rig every section as as it was over a beautiful patio and decking ☹️
  14. Whatever is growing over your side, you’re quite within your rights to cut off. I’d be going for about where I’ve marked on the pic. anyrhing overhanging from the other trunk can be trimmed back to the boundary as well. As squaredy says - wrong tree wrong place 👍
  15. Red Robin blooming the most spectacular I’ve ever seen round here in Essex - stunning everywhere I see it 👍
  16. Aah that explains it 👍 never seen them breed so early here but worrying about the lack of them here - last year I saw swifts before swallows, and they’re normally a few weeks later. Obviously a localised thing as stubby and several others have them where they are(we’re in Chelmsford)
  17. Swallows I reckon. Where’s is this as seems very early for first brood this year in Uk? I’ve still not seen or heard a single one round our way and I’m outside every day - weathers been pretty cold for them of course
  18. As this post was nearly 7 years ago I’d think it’s maybe a bit late to ask 👍😁
  19. I’ve also noticed a few have died over this winter, including one largish one that’s never been touched so wouldn’t feel too bad
  20. For website design contact @Steve Bullman the owner of this site. as others have said - clear up properly. A large local firm did two jobs in my road for newly moved in people who didn’t ask neighbours for recommendations. The mess left in the road was appalling and no one here will touch them with a barge pole now
  21. So similar! My godfather was from the Gorbals and the similarity of some of his speaking with plat Deutsch (old north German dialect) that my mother could speak was uncanny. I’ve read that much of the connection was via the Hanseatic League which linked so many north European cities and the common language of the sailors who later settled in different towns
  22. My dad who was born in Germany always called them the German word Kiebitz which is kind of similar sounding to Peewit. Dutch is Kievit, so easy to see where our languages and words crossed over many years ago
  23. Pictures will help. Whichever option they choose, estimate how many loads of chip/logs then add 50% on top. even the most experienced of us get caught out on conifers and the amount of waste.
  24. Any properties on the nearby access roads got ring camera or cctv? Must have been a large vehicle to move it all?
  25. Nice little Bay down and ground out with the 360sw - about 36” across. Took the concrete edging out and reset it after - about 3 hrs in total. Need more easy jobs like this 👍
