  1. Does it have an adjustable carb? Easiest way to tell if it's a 'M' or not?
  2. That was my thinking, got on a whim, not wonderful but well worth that money. Just gone over two rowans with them so that alone paid for them a bunch of times over! For what it's worth I like the spear and Jackson ratchet ones about £25 from Argos, they get through good sized stuff
  3. Aldi £7 even better value!!
  4. Seperate from pl insurance?
  5. Same as the rock machinery one but with a worse engine
  6. Wouldn't be too surprised if they start throwing out a reasonably designed chipper at some point in the next ten years, nowhere near yet though!
  7. My Dad used to have an old exenco 'chuck and duck', would whip through anything when it was sharp! The speed still puzzled me on this one though! Fair comment about the flywheel doing the pulling but I'd have though that would stall the machine once it's started to wrap around it. Managed to stall my Jensen with ivy/vine recently, had to chisel the stuff off where it had wrapped around the flywheel
  8. Haven't used a bandit but do they actually pull in branches as fast as that? Can't say any chipper I've ever used pulls in at that kind of speed?
  9. It would cut but I wouldn't do it, it can bog down a bit if try to push it when it's buried in wood on a 14
  10. Did that 😉 find it likes the stihl full chisel chain but rakers need to be kept down so it can bite into the wood properly
  11. I have one that's exactly one year old (bought from skyland on their Black Friday sale) apart from the awful bar that comes with it I can't fault it. I fact I decided yesterday if i could only have one saw it would be this one due to its power and versatility (have used it for ringing up when bigger saws haven't started *cough* 550xp )
  12. There's a saw in the pic?
  13. Are these ones available in the uk? Checked Jones and doesn't mention electric start so is it a different model? very interested if it's available
  14. They do that anyway as I get someone on the back throwing out handfuls of chip as we drive along to save having to find somewhere to tip!
  15. Think I'm gonna bang some holes into the exhaust on the transit seeing all these performance gains. Should top 100mph fully loaded by my calculations
  16. Phone them up and ask them to come price a job at an address that doesn't exist 😉
  17. I went into a Vauxhall dealer last year and bought a car without showing my driving licence. I've never rode a motorbike in my life and have no licence to do so but pretty sure I could go and order one without being questioned. Both of these are way more dangerous than a 35cc chainsaw?? If someone wants to buy a chainsaw and do whatever with it that's down to them I say. Most people will use common sense because not doing so results in a chainsaw in the face or leg (Appreciate its illegal to drive without a license but am referring to dealer responsibility)
  18. Just did a quick search and they showing up at around 3500 for 11hp? Would steer well clear at that price, get a rock machinery one for 1500 or get a rayco 13hp if gonna spend that kind of money
  19. Good point there. I have no problem climbing a tree with just a bit of rope holding me up there but wouldn't catch me on a motorbike! A pothole or patch of ice and it's game over!
  20. First time anyone's used the terms 'works perfect' and 'husky can' in the same sentence!!
  21. Short and thick, does the trick huh? 😉
  22. Been hesitant to watch it as don't think they could recreate the feel of the original show and era. Can't beat tv from back then with the crap today
  23. It would look awesome but would be a nightmare to use, having a hot exhaust pipe poking out the side of the saw would burn hands and trousers in no time!
  24. I'm with you, I thinks there's a tad too much of throwing perfectly good stuff out before its needing replacing
  25. Don't worry about rope too much, we've got an old climbing rope that was retired about ten years ago, still used for lowering/ pulling occasionally and when had a breakdown recently it was used to pull a fully loaded transit about a mile to the yard!
