  1. Mines a slightly older one so I have to spray grease onto the gears that run the rollers but again you get to those and the grease points by opening up the flywheel cover
  2. The Jensen is very easy to work on, two bolts and the flywheel, blades bearings etc are all there and bonnet up and the engine can be got at from all angles
  3. Nice one, hope it serves you well
  4. Of course not, there are no UK dealers that I can see! Own a 365 though and is a good saw. Not knocking the dollar in the slightest but for me new over used and larger engine wins it
  5. The 365 all day long, bigger engine, warranty and you can turn it into a 372 when the warranty runs out
  6. Agreed killing a file a day seems far too fast??
  7. Im sure it's a good saw, running the husky range atm so haven't used a 241 have had a 261 though. I just mean I can't see a point is so many closely specified saws! Must be a nightmare for dealers to stock parts for the range
  8. Think that's true for the whole stihl range, never seen a point in a 211 231 241 251 261 271 291 !!!
  9. in case it's any use to you this is the bearing nearest the back so you can see the part numbers on it before removing your one
  10. Are the bearings worn or are they moving? Had the same thing on mine but the one nearest the back of the machine had come loose and just needed tightening
  11. Omg you can limit the cost per click to whatever you want, you must be nuts to pay anything like that!
  12. They're listed as Honda engines now but they dropped the hp from 23 to 21
  13. Is the cover sitting properly? I'm wondering if it's rubbing while the saw is in use? Used to have an echo top handle that never sat quite right
  14. Do you not touch them up with a grinder? Two hours would leave them dull/ blunt
  15. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=231582506706&globalID=EBAY-GB
  16. Something like this one? https://m.costco.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/cos_10,cos_10.7,cos_1.9.1/185933 Can fit it yourself
  17. Could be wrong but don't think you'll get parts from a dealer, my dad picked up a barn find one last year, still on the original made in west Germany bar, showed it to a dealer who rated the saw but can't get parts for it anymore
  18. this is mine at the mo, been fine for two years but was done before I had a chipper so next one will be getting a chip box. Only cost about £80 including the paint and bolts so cant complain!
  19. Sounds good, the spring on mine has just started to stretch. Faultless apart from that
  20. Never heard of a hop handle saw either. Also this has been done to death, try the search function!
  21. A knackered old Bedford cf and a bonfire in the back garden to deal with the brash at £25 a tree 😉
  22. I had the older and slightly smaller cs510, good saw, very reliable, left it for six months at one point and it started third pull. Only negative was the av was poor in comparison to the stihl 261 that replaced it
  23. Ha yeah my wife says that, I've thought about dabbling in it but the money isn't there anymore, was debating making profession targeted site then selling it with customising to whoever bought it's photos etc. l Was doing a job for a web designer last year and he doesn't design them anymore, just manages them as not much uptake
  24. I wasn't thinking a day with it, an hour or two looking over it and throw some bits and pieces through would do! The £100 shouldn't be an issue financially or you can't afford it, it's the principle of paying to try a machine you're looking to buy! And I'm sure it's a very good machine, very tempted to get one in a year or two when finances allow! Just have one for me to look over!
  25. Yeah you could but dropping money on hiring a machine to see what it's like when you're looking to spend 17k on? If you were buying a car you'd get a test drive of one regardless of if you know someone who has one! Why should you do all the leg work when they're the ones selling to you?
