  1. For what they are and do, they are still expensive machines. The Bilke guillotine will apparenlty take larger diameter material and is cheaper than the TR.
  2. Club cab L200 not very common and I cannot see the point of it as the club bit is small and doesnot open. I have a Ranger Super cab and find it a good size behind the seats for storage and the rear door opens suicide style giving full, unobstructed access to the rear - much easier on a day to day basis.
  3. My friend has a LWB high top Transit and ask a couple of years ago if he could put off road tyres on and the tyre fitter laughed him out of the garage stating they did not have any where near the load rating required. I'm sure insurance companies would not be keen either!
  4. Sorry to hear you haven't got the work for the dumper Steve. We were just talking about it yesterday. My mate struggled in his 170hp Ford TW20 towing the 10 ton forwarding trailer loaded with logs to get up the yard. (The snow was two feet deep) I asked how he did it last time it snowed and he said.."Had me lovely little dumper on the front towing it!! Would go anywhere that dumper." Happy days,if only we could afford to buy it back!!
  5. There is a MOD trailer that is bigger than the Sankey, with a wider track so you may not have to cut your machine. Could be this style GKN/Arrows 1.75 ton military trailer | eBay
  6. Looks a good truck. How are you going to register it and make it road legal? My friend and I looked in to this last year when talking to one of the main dealers who had a yard full of them. They were talking about a couple of grand to make road legal and it would be down to us to do. The load capacity also put us off as by the time you have mounted a crane you would be down to a few ton. Keep us posted with pics though as I do like these trucks and we keep thinking there must be a reason why we need one (other than the fact we like them!!).
  7. Horizontal blizzard outside so started mooching around ebay and found this Unimog/4x4 Truck/Renault | eBay and this unimog 6x4 | eBay and this would be good in the snow (some cracking pictures further down the ad) Land Rover Defender on Rubber Tracks! 110 Utility S/W 2008 57 reg, v. good cond | eBay
  8. Thats what I thought Steve!! Probably a couple of feet too long.
  9. This was Saturday Jon near Shotley Bridge. 4 deliveries completed - 2 local to yard and 2 to Newcastle. Was pleased I had four wheel drive.
  10. Could be useful?? NISSAN D22 NAVARA PICK UP AIRCON 2.5TD 2000 X REG ALLOY DROPSIDE BODY | eBay
  11. We feed all year round - couple of nut feeders and a fat ball one. Important to keep them topped up this time of year as the birds may have expended a lot of energy to get to the feeder.
  12. There's two rules to follow when buying a Freelander 1: firstly, never ever buy a petrol one; secondly, always obey the first rule! I had a TD4 version and it was a fantastic vehicle.
  13. Sure you hadn't just forgot to put the legs down Mark???:001_tt2:
  14. I would certainly recomend having a look at ETA boilers - Austrian, expensive but superb quality. A client of mine has recently installed one and is over the moon with it.

    L200 advice

I read The Telegraph on a Saturday and Honest John always recommends higher mileage over lower mileage. However, if the cars got FSH, is what you want and at a good price then go for it. I bought a 2007 Ranger with 27000 miles and FSH in June 2011 and its never missed a beat (I'm touching the wooden desk as I write!!).
  16. How about this one Jon???? http://www.johnlewis.com/231443663/Product.aspx?s_kwcid=ppc_pla&tmad=c&tmcampid=73&pup_ptid={adwords_producttargetid}&pup_kw={keyword}&pup_c={adtype}
  17. Any body fancies a great night out I can thoroughly recommend the Classic Rock Show - two and a half hours of music from the top ten classic albums of all time. And the guitarist Howie G is my nephew! The Classic Rock Show | Tour Dates
  18. Thank you. We were set to go for the Kesla trailer but saw this at the APF - it appears to be more heavy duty than the Kesla and the crane has greater lift and reach. Plus the dealer is only 30 mins away from us. The extension is not hydraulic - you undo four bolts on the side of the frame and the two on the top plate and pull forwards. It's only been pushed back in once and my mate still won't tell me how he did it - I think the loading shovel came in to play somewhere!!!
  19. Just booked flights on Sunday to go and see relatives on Vancouver Island in June. Going for three weeks and want to do and see as much as possible as it is 14 years since my wife and I last went. I'll be sure to go to work with my cousin one day - he's a logging truck driver!!
  20. Looks a job well done, you should be proud of that and for keeping a traditional skill going. Wouldn't mind giving it a go myself sometime.
  21. Have had two quacking days (yes, there was duck invovled) on a local shoot - got driven around, great food and hospitality and good company. Very good value and the guy who runs it is a diamond geezer - oh thats you Darren isn't it???
  22. Well done to Steve for all the hardwork in organising the Gareth Dalzell raffle:001_smile::001_smile: Excellent amount of money raised for the Childrens Trust which is great, especially in the present economic climate. I see I have won a sawpod - I would be excited if I knew what one was:thumbup:
  23. One thing always puzzled me - my Kelly has a cork on a chain and the instructions say do not boil with cork in place (even though it has a hole in). So what's the difference to having a whistle on???
  24. Thats the trailer fully extended, you can slide it back together to shorten it (as in the photo below). Yep,he was standing on the drawbar but luckily jumped when he felt it going over. Trouble is,standing on the ground operating it it is difficult to see where you are placing the timber.
