  2. Its daft, the mentality of those that we price against sometimes!! Would love to see how the 150-00 job goes pop corn time
  3. They deffinetly do have a slight sticky throttle or something!! I've spent 3 days solid felling with a new one, rev's don't die down so quick....
  4. Looks ok ot me, you should see some of the crap round here that has been lifted and harshly reduced by so called tree surgeons! Then left to lapse, with big boils on the end with loads of growth from them...... Your job was good

  10. I think your bob on there at that price.... as for the above post, 20.00 a chain lol thats a rediculous price..... 20 quid for both maybe thats more realistic due to the size of the chain's......
  11. As said buy a secondhand stihl or husky.... whats your budget? what size of saw/cc are you after also?
  12. I haven't used a form for conservation areas... i just send an email off with address and tree location etc.
  13. you don't have to apply in a conservation area.... you just "notify" the council of works to be done, then 6-8weeks turn around, probabilly have an answer before that.
  14. Really good video and a pleasure to watch Is that a job you had to do when subbing? also what rope is that and size? 13mm 45mtr ?12mm etc also you must rate the saw pod? Its nice to reduce with silky's and leave the noisey things in the box lol good to watch
  15. yes they are heavy, have used one when subbing, not sure if i like the finishing cuts made with them, as the oil tank etc can block the view of your cut.....
  16. lots to do...... horses for courses Like has been said, they are quite bad for vibes..... might climb, depends how much to do vs time scale....
  17. Thats what i ment in a roundabout way
  18. Also i'm after the 5 mtr height of cut....
  19. Well, its not i don't like them but i know people that use them that have problems with the 4 mix hedge trimmers etc..... very unreliable starting, like to eat spark plugs.... one tree surgeon told me he was gutted his old ht75 hedge trimmer was nicked and he got a hl95 4 mix as a replacement! Also only want to spend 300-350 max as its only an occasional use
  20. 35-40 yards max range really, and it depends how dark the night is also, but theyre good and its horses for courses
  21. Theyre too bright for some stuff though, depends what you shoot and what with! I've also used one of them "police" led torches, mounted to my scope with some modified scope mounts, it came with a "touch" switch i could tape to my stock near the barrel end of the stock, so had trigger finger free and ready
  22. Deben mini or maxi on my old .177 precharged rifles! and made a red filter from an old tizer bottle
  23. Evening all, may be looking into buying a pole pruner in the near future. Looked at the price of new ones and i think they are a little ott! and no i'm not vat registered....... 500 odd and 600 odd These are stihl ones i'm looking at btw. I'm looking into a secondhand one as it will not see much use, which would be the one to go for? You can get the old style ht/hl? 75 then the ht101 4 mix then the ht131 4 mix again..... Not keen on 4 mix, and been told they are being phased out very soon, should i go for an old reliable ht/hl 75? or would the ht101 4 mix be a bit more punchier? Cheers
