  1. Do you not have more than one climbing saw
  2. I use a ms200t with a 14" bar for dismantling and pruning, but think i may try a 12" bar for pruning.... 14" is plenty! i cut through allsorts of diameter wood when blocking down, till i get a bigger saw passed up! Leave the 16" for the americans
  3. Excellent pics there tom!!! Why's that saw a blue colour hanging from the climber curious what make cc etc makita?
  4. I was going to say ratchet strap and then climb, but that was until i saw that the crack was indeed opening and shutting slightly in the wind.... Would have to see the tree in question to see whats actually holding it up.... Think that if you could fell the back half out (no crown) then put a gob, albeit small one in the half with the crown, then drag it over with a winch.... Better to see the tree. Let everyone know how you get on Walking away idea doesn't sound good where there's a will there's a way and it should be SAFE
  5. go and listen or have a look at it
  6. Agree, can you get any pictures for us?
  7. Out of curiosity, what kind of pops are they? and do you mean reduce, or top
  8. This saw will have come out when there wasn't very good oil on the market, oil nowadays has come on leaps and bounds in quality and lubrication properties etc.... Some old saws say 25:1 but are run on 50:1 now due to better oils. Someone will be along shortly and help you further
  9. Did i hear 10k tax threshold for earnings?

  13. I ment 7.5t with a grab or i know someone with a mb trac and a timber grab Where there's a will, there's a way
  14. What size of rope are you using? I've got yale xtc 13mm and just trying out the hc, but fancy a spider jack, but don't want to change my rope just yet, been told 13mm doesn't tend well??
  15. I'm with you one the one cut, or as least as possible, onto the back of a wagon and off to the tip....
  16. There is a lot of timewasters out there hodge, but take the rough with the smooth, maybe a lucky exit and they may have knocked you on completion of work or took a while to pay maybe..... at least they rang you though so you can re arrange things.... if necessary, have the day off, and relax
  17. I'm a post 97 lad My iveco is a 3.5t tipper and its gtw is 6000kg. All i have to tow really is a timberwolf 150 which timber wolf states is 737kg or 748kg..... so i'm ok to to this i think.... With the post 97 licence does that mean i can only tow it and not have a load on the back as that will take me over the gvw? I hate seeing these threads appear, as people say one thing then the other.... and you don't know who to listen too.... should i just say bugger it and go book my trailer test B+E? and forget about this SILLY topic once and for all?
  18. is it dismantling? pruning? and whats the wage for the day? cheers
  19. Can you give me some examples so i understand what you mean? Cheers
  20. ok was just looking to see if they would warrent a piston each at some point to keep them going One of the 200t's when i bought it came with a 12" bar on it, but the bar groove seem's to wide on it and the chain seems to "rock" a lot side to side on that bar even when correctly tensioned. What would have caused it to do that? I've put a different bar on it now, so is the other scrap? Cheers
  21. How much did you get sorted for for the day with operator? And the person would just come with the chipper and chip, you'd sort the truck or where to chip to? Cheers Chris
