  4. haha. i get around three calls a day, i've started saving the numbers in my mobile as "no" and "dont answer" etc... that catches some of em but there seems to be new numbers every day! and some are on private numbers so i have to answer incase its a customer! does me head in.

  6. thanks for the replies everyone, a lot to think about there. Arbgirl, ND Arb is level 3, and allows you to join the AA at technician level (although i haven't joined yet). Ill read through the rest of the comments later when i get a minute cheers

  9. bender, here's some old ganoderma for comparison. colour can vary from grey to brown, the brown colour often being caused by spore deposits. thanks for the comments

  12. alright mate, im 24, self employed, just got £1m public liability with no height restriction, for approx £350 per year, including legal (if anything ever did go to court the insurance would cover the legal costs). I do mainly small garden trees, no monsters. hope this helps, (pm me if you would like the details of my insurance broker) chris

Good luck lads! sorry if this is a derail/off topic, and i think i may have touched on this in an earlier thread, how does Tech Cert compare to Nation Diploma in Arboriculture? i ask because i have completed the latter, and am wondering is there any point in trying for the tech, or should i go straight to a higher course? any input appreciated, chris
  16. yep i went to business link and they gave me all the advice i needed. theres all sorts of different avenues for funding you can try, grants, loans, princes trust, inBiz, etc... just google "business link" to get their number and take it from there.

  20. haha it looked a bit risky like it nearly took his head off before it swung round and killed the shed. no helmet either!. i suppose the £250 would have covered the shed though haha. sorry angus it was on itv tonite i doubt it'll be online.
