  1. i agree delete it but i'm just saying i doubt it was meant in that context
  2. i think it might be in the context of "pretty lady in the bedroom" - not a joke about that incident
  3. i'd have done it for free for the firewood :lol:
  4. badger on a lead, now thats an idea
  5. haha the last 2 pics look photoshopped, lucky you spotted him tho:thumbup1:
  6. just food for thought, i had a look while ordering some flyers. 100 is actually the maximum order on vistaprint (for calendars) so im sure you would have to use someone else anyway as you'd want more than that.
  7. Monkey- D im not sure of the species to be honest, the site had a lot of yew though, so it could be a laetep! Cheers some random shots of Polyporus squamosus from yesterday, including some very young examples. I can't turn around without seeing one at the moment, they're just everywhere
  8. cheers, i saw it in the distance and spend a few minutes trying to decide whether or not it was a crisp packet/ takeaway carton or something, then eventually decided to walk up and investigate. glad i did! (there is a lot of rubbish in this wood, such a shame)
  9. vistaprint charge approx £450 including postage for 100 colour photo wall calendars. just an example of price.
  10. i know how you feel, what exactly is so hard to understand? professional= overheads
  11. Kretzschmaria deusta and Daldinia concentrica.
  12. Laeteporus sulphureus, brown heartwood rotter found on oak and other broadleaved trees... also known as chicken of the woods or sulphur polypore First time finding this!
  13. make sure everyone and their dog knows what you do, nowt worse than bumping into a friend or relative and them saying "oh i didn't know you were a tree surgeon, i just had some work done.."
  14. since i got my free listing on yell i have recieved only 4 phonecalls from cutomers, and i get 1-3 per day from advertising people. DONT DO IT
  15. yes. and i probably wouldn't use them again
  16. great pics! ive had the same here, bit of rain and its like the aliens have landed!
  17. i think a calendar featuring nice/ interesting pictures of trees would appeal to more people, (arbs and non arbs), therefore making more money for the charity. it would also be easier to get sponsorship with a more mainstream idea. i think the original idea of a (british native) tree for each month + facts/ mythology/ uses etc is spot on.
  18. could you not piece it into 1-ton chunks? then you could use the crane at full stretch maybe? of course it would take a little longer, but why do you have to move it all in one go? not that i know anything about cranes.
  19. i finished the ND last year, glad to hear you're enjoying it! the problem with the work experience, is that there are a lot of students going for the same placements at the same time. you may have to split your work experience 50/50 with two different employers, just to make the hours up.
  20. are you at houghall? ps. post you exact location, might help:thumbup1:
  21. just out of interest... how are you going to fund it?
  22. good idea, sure it could raise a few quid for charity, and if some of the arb shops would display them on the counter for example, that would get some non-arbtalkers buying, thus bringing more people to arbtalk, win- win
  23. does Polyporus tuberaster have the same decay characteristics as squamosus? ie parasitic then saprophytic
