  1. if you read the blurb you will find that it is recomended to change all four tyres and not just two. the winter tyres will grip the road better and if you have to brake hard the non winter tyres will break out and you are more prone to skidding. i recomend getting some Snow Socks. these are quicker and easier to put on than chains and dont do any damage to your tyres.
  2. you can get small radios @ comets or in your bigger supermarkets.
  3. listen to the radio alot especially on thursday and friday bbc radio 7 for the Goons, I am sorry ill read that again, the Navy Lark and Hinge and Bracket . wednesday is Hancocks Half Hour. brought up on the Goons and i have got an old LP of Tales of Old Dartmoor and Dishonoured. you cant beat the old half hour sketch shows. good clean fun. Left hand down a bit or is it right hand up. Classic.
  4. just a small point. if you advertise on google where you are isnt that just a nice big signpost for the nasty gits who will pay you a visit late at night and nick all your gear. then you moan on arbtalk when its happened. food for thought then!
  5. try neatsfoot oil, get it from any horsey shop
  6. get a bic biro, (clear plastic ones are the best) take it apart, put the big open end over the hole and then suck the thorn out. works a treat.
  7. what can i say. disgusted, horrified. i could go on, but for you to say that you are ill informed about this day is crass. the fact that people have been wearing poppies for the last week or so should have given you a clue. i suggest you do some penance and make a huge donation to the Royal British Legion.

  10. since i had my stroke i have set up the sos on my phone which will automaticly ring both my daughters. if i cant speak then they can phone the ES for me. the ES can track your number and location. if the AA can do it then the ES can.
  11. Josh, i did pm you with some people who might be able to help.
  12. you should be able to get a cant by making the toe end adjuster longer than the head end. failing that it should tell you how to do it in the instructions you got with the mill. if you have lost them then check out the alasken mill web site.
  13. prepare for the worst and hope for the best, this winter it going to be a bad one imo. should be great for the young but not so good for the old. prepare for your insurance premiums to go up next year because of the muppets that cant drive properly and cause accidents. i have got the snow chains ready. what joy!
  14. My heart goes out to you mate, i am also looking after my mum after she had a massive stroke 5 years ago, she has got dementia and altsimers. i dread to think how i will feel when she does go. she is known all over the world through her books and lecturing. keep your chin up and dont be ashamed to cry it is allowed.
