  1. Bob, I've sorted an anvil. Thanks for your help. cor blimy i forgot all about that.
  2. nice bit of oak Rob. Nigel Howe recomends having the outer sticks as close to the end as poss, this helps prevent splitting. i will be getting back to work soon and the ballooning season will start soon, bored to tears.
  3. i spent 14 years in the army and would have stayed in but got married. now divorced and a very happy bunny but if i could do it all again i would and stay inthe forces till they kicked me out. thats my advice to you mate , stay in if you can, its a crap world out here. re badge if you have to but stay in.
  4. Hi, the 880 is a beast but a wonderful beast. i use one all the time for milling. the only bits of advice i can give you are (a) check out Rob D Alaskan Mill for Bars. (b) when starting the decompresion button can pop out and cause some problems(painfull) the way round this is to push the button in, put your left foot in the handle and your right foot on top of the engine over the decom button and pull the starer rope with both hands. © keep some spare sprocket barings. these are just my thoughts but all round it is a bril saw.
  5. big gray area, i sometimes do green woodworking demos (polelathe) free. however if they are charging people to come into an event then they must pay. i had one last year that wanted me to drive 30 miles to do a demo and pay £20 for a pitch. she said "you can sell things" i said are you charging people to come in and if so how much? £5 ph. then you can pay me. why? she said. because i do this for a living and i expect payment, would you drive a round trip of 60 miles and work for a day at your work for no pay. no she said. then why should you expect me to. she said oh and put the phone down. but there have been lots of times that i have done a demo for nothing and given a percentage of the table sales to the charity. it all boils down to if they can afford to pay then they pay.
  6. when using double head mills it is a "must" that both are the same power other wise you will knacker either one or both. i have got 3 Sperber mills, 2x 4ft and a 3ft and run 076avs on them. i also run an Alaskan mill with a 60" bar on an 880. if you get in touch with Rob D he can supply you with a handy helper. this takes the place of one of the drive heads on the double ender. i know the 660 is 3/8 but what is the 070?
  7. Hi Andy, too far for me but if you get in touch with any garden centres or allotment owners they will take all youve got. another good area to try is your local thatcher, 90% of the hazel used in thatching is imported from Poland. allotments and thatchers are by far your best market, the thicker 2" could be sold to hedge layers and hurdle makers.
  8. if your constantly boiling water then go for an Aga kettle good solid base bit expensive @ £50/70. but last a life time.
  9. have a look at the Dyneema rope Superwinch Parts, Electric Winches and Winch Bumpers, UK – Goodwinch.com. it aint cheap but its the dogs gonads.
  10. not much point in having one of these cards unless you run a fleet of vehicles. just use your company credit card then your not tied down to one or two retailers. the Shell garage near me has always been 4/5 ppl more than the esso bp asda tescos and sainsburys pumps. the only time i used a card/key was when i ran on lpg and i had a countrywide key. this was 20ppl + cheaper.
  11. i got a large bag from screwfix and bolted a piece of plywood to the base.cheap as chips
  12. if its the only way to bring this country back into the black then go for it. Labour always bankrupt the country spending money that wasnt there. the Comservatives love em or hate them pick up the pieces and get the country back on its feet are hated for it. if Labour, who got us into this mess helped instead of gripeing all the time then we might, just might get things sorted quicker.
  13. goodwinch.com. do portable capstan winches. give Dave a ring tell him what you need and he will you advice.
  14. yup thats the one, they think that the ford saloon that made it all the way down was using snow tyres, bet he found out that adrenaline was brown though.
  15. just seen an amazing video on bt yahoo news, loads of 4x4s sliding down a hill in Spokane Washington USA. its been posted on youtube but i dont know how to get the link onto this forum. if you find it it is really funny to see.
  16. there should be a button on google to translate finnish into english.
  17. in 100 years time all trees will either be chopped down or in a museum
  18. The Penis Poem. My nookie days are over. My pilot light is out, what used to be my sex appeal is now my water spout. Time was when on its own from my trousers it would spring. But now its just a full time job to find the bloody thing. It used to be embarrassing the way it would behave for every single morning it would stand and watch me shave. But now old age approaches, it sure gives me the blues, to see it hang its little head, and watch me tie my shoes.
  19. i dont make a normally make a habit of chopping through nails and its not something i would recommend. sorry, couldnt resist that. no i dont know anyone in south wales who uses an alaskan mill but you could give Rod D a ring (alaskan mill) if all else fails pm me. you are only about 1 1/2 hours from me. i have been to Sollihul and Newcastle under Lyme to mill, plus a week in Scotland. so distance isnt a problem.
  20. A woman playing golf teed off and watched in horror as the ball hit a man playing the next hole. He clasps his hand together at his groin fell to the ground and rolled around in agony. The woman rushed to the man and offered to relieve his pain saying she was a physiotherapist. The man said "no ill be fine", but the woman insisted. She gently moved his hands, undid his trousers and put her hands inside. then tenderly massaged for several minutes. "how does that feel" she said. "brilliant" said the man "but i still think my thumbs broken"
