  1. Took a couple today. There's a couple of lumps of wood under where the battery is. Makes it more sturdy when it's strapped down otherwise you just squash the tyres.
  2. I know the feeling, caught my finger on my sig I'd first outing, never had a single issue with the zubat, but the sugoi is attracted to flesh! Heal quick! Glad it wasn't serious!
  3. I ask if there's anything, customer usually have an idea if there is but you never know, next job ive got coming up they have had a dig themselves already! Makes for easy peasy grinding for that one! I've been doing a lot of grinding recently, seems to be quite popular!
  4. Will it be a bit further north? I may come to that too! Any reason to celebrate and drink gentlemans pop
  5. You can have a happy meal but I'm taking the toy! I need a bonnet mascot!
  6. Find 10 local lads and pay them all £50 each and say come and give me a hand dragging this lot out! Will be done even quicker.
  7. I was told by my local TO that they last 3 years. I think it's a little out of date, considering the town and country planning act came in 1990 and wildlife and countryside was 89!
  8. Ok Deli is too far away!
  9. I've got some huge conifers to bring down that will violate little Gloria, I'm after a few pairs of hands to help me on the day. Two groundies required, I'll be climbing them, feel free to bring climbing gear if you want, another climber will help but is not essential. Wages can be discussed. If you have a saw, bring one, only needs to be a little one, I'll have all we need. Pm me or 07516 348 002 at Reasonable hours only please!
  10. Stick lunge!
  11. if its any help lorry, my dads got the parrot that lets you plug into an ipod/iphone and also through an auxillary cable, thats in his landy, and it works fine, had it on both my ipod and iphone working well and the little remote that comes with it to stick anywhere will control both, pretty handy, well, hands free!
  12. Done seeing as you did click on mine!
  13. fair enough, hindsight is a wonderful thing, had to do 7 stumps and dug as deep as i was grinding on each one, added a while onto that one! looks like what ive got lined up will be a lot easier than i thought. Nice one
  14. two short but sweet videos of silkys on the strop, both dropped from same height, sugoi and zubat, the sugoi, being heavier, bounces a lot more. hence why i took a second thought about where to stand! 15. Something ive wondered while ive been grinding stumps, is it beneficial to dig away the stump first or do you just go right in and grind the soil too? i know the cutters are carbide so should stand up to a little bit of soil, but mainly to clear away stones or anything not too good for the teeth. Dig or not dig?
  16. Correct, it was Kretz and only kretz on this one Customer didnt seem to accept that this little black crust can do some damage, until he saw the stump and he was surprised!
  17. Hmm, could that not just be host/parasite incompatibility? I can't remember if they grow well or even at all on limes but do well on poplar. When we get some at Christmas I'll see if I can get a bit stuck on some apples weve got here and see if anything manages. There a farm local to me with a ball of it hanging on a poplar, might go and ask them for it!
  18. A step up from a prussic is a blakes, same technique but you can alter the length of the knot so when you are thrusting up.
  19. Common names are handy for lay mans and easy discussion, but common names differ with where you go, so to get the right species you call the Latin to someone and they will be able to know what your talking about.
  20. I was under the impression it was simple. Silly BBC documentary! They went to a place that grows it on a load of apple trees and all they did was pop them open and stick them in a union. It was mentioned that birds use the twigs and the berries get stuck on their beak so they wipe them on the branches to get them off. And that was how they are spread.
  21. i dont think the arbortechs will last that long, i did a few hours of logging up with them on the sawhorse and some stitching has already come away on one of the pads!
  22. what would you do if you won the lottery though mark? i put a few tickets on in hopes i would, but looks like someone beat me to it! id buy some rather shiny kit, some even shinier place to put it all and some HUGE blokes to guard it all! id happily live off the interest, give nearest and dearest a bit each and buy anything i want at any time for the rest of my life!
  23. i believe chemicals such as glyphosate and other generic herbicides aimed at perennial weeds contain chemicals that trees and other plants produce to grow such as auxins and gibberelins, in high concentrations found in the chemicals, it is harful to the tree, inhibiting growth and causing death to weeds, it wont be any good to the trees but they dont die as they have a larger area to spread out the chemical causing a lower concentration once it has spread throughout the organism. id best mention this to my dad, he has been doing a lot of weed and feed recently!
  24. Thanks 2 years gone, a very quick 2 years, some challenging spots but managed to get through and come out of it feeling good for it!
