Get one of them carbide chains and you might be able to write your name on the steel. Does breaking the rules mean like sitting on the saw to force it to do nothing at all? -
Girlfriends parents have bought a couple of bonsai trees, got one as a carmona but this one was labelled as 'shanghai mix' google has told me that other trees are labelled this too so that was no help! One site pointed out a similarity to ligustrum but these leaves baffle me! Anyone?

have a little dig and see if the roots have been damaged, this would also show the signs of disturbance, if glyphosate was used as a poison, most likely to be as its the easiest to get hold of, then you may have difficulty finding it in soil tests unless it was very shortly after it had been done.

your best leaving a top handled till you are confident enough with your climbing, even just get a fast cutting silky and get used to the cuts and the positioning, although working with a saw is a bit different, you can build up your climbing confidence easier with just using a silky.

everyone will feel different on the course, you did well enough on that climbing day we had here so i think you will sail through! just take your time and theres nothing wrong with more than 1 point of contact!

For anyone thinking of making a chip box

bar steward it does actually work well, it could be a bit lower i do admit, but it will be easily filled by a 12" timberwolf as the chute is about 8' high, it just bounced off the roof. maybe in the future when its earnt a bit more money i can shorten it, atm its pretty good as i can fire chip to the top and back of the pile all the time so theres no dragging forward to reach the back again. MPG wise, not much of an issue tbh, the angle on the front does help it a lot, when it was on the other truck doing 60mph it really didnt affect it that much! -
they make harder chain to cut through, then they make gas axes and angle grinders easily portable, we cant win! i have a steel box in my truck, it fits my saws in and i can lock it, not the easiest thing to get into at the best of times, but it works. When on site if im in a back garden i take it all through with me and then i know where it all is, the only thing that may stay in the truck is a brush or shovel till we need it, all valuable kit is in sight. Its happening too much, are people cottoning on to us or is it just the times?!

it may be a better idea to buy a premade prussik loop ray, all the suppliers sell them and you will be shown the knots you need anyway.

i would agree with previous statements, i dont think you will suffer irrepairable damage to the house, its distance from the tree, even at a large size, you would see more minor roots and little to no ground upheaval at that distance, the garden wall, however, will probably get pushed over in time and the pavement lifted up due to close proximity. how about a X Cuprocyparis sp.?

Move to a farm, weve got no neighbours for at least 50 yards in any direction, one place is a dog breeder, lots of barking, can barely hear them even round the yard, I used to have big parties and never had complaints. It's brill! I agree with others, letting your kid sleep with the noise is better, I sleep through a lot as I grew up with a lot of noise early mornings. It's not worth getting worked up as I thunk it's unnecessary stress!

i thought barchams but think delivery would be silly Ive found J A Jones in southport who do a 20-25 girth tree, it may not be too tall but i think thats the best ill manage, micro digger or spade?

Client wants me to kill their eucalyptus and replace it with a weeping willow, which I am happy to do, however they want it as big as possible to go back in, whats the best place to get them from? It would be root balled but access to the garden is through a stone arch which is 6.5ft high!

I hate that! I've always had a dislike for articles in the media which makes the lot of us sound like cowboys! I'm sure they would have made a similar story if they hadn't been felled and they landed on a building!
