  3. top job andy. have you got any future schedule planned with them, ie maintenance or to check progress?
  4. top stuff so far andy, looking forward to the rest of the pics and the finished artical.
  5. i used to clip a whistle to my chin strap but didnt like the idea of getting caught in the face with something and the whistle being between my face and the object, so i used to carry it in my personal first aid kit. beat me to it rupe, i didnt see your post.
  6. cool vid, well put together.
  7. we usually organise one regularly, last one was about 2 months ago at gollums woods (mark kneller). i'm sure they'll be plenty of interest. looks like you get the honour of organising this one. if you have trouble finding a venue just put a post up, one of us will be able to sort one.

not so dead that it snaps every couple of foot though. all good advice so far, best of luck.
  10. what i was going to say:thumbup: anyway forget your chin up bar mark, i've got an off cut of lowering rope through an eye in the ceiling, no loops just grip the two ends of the rope and pull to suit the areas you want to target.
  11. good on you justin, you really have to wonder at some peoples lack of action. not a patch on yours, but my good deed today was to give up my seet in the waiting room of the hospital to a little girl with a broken leg, and just for good measure i put a few quid in a donation box towards a worthy cause and had a good chin wag with a couple of old boys whilst i was there, put a few smiles on faces.
  12. looks like a great oppurtunity for someone david, i'm even half tempted myself all but for the wage and travel. could be a very enlightening experience.
  13. :congrats: very sad whatever the circumstances, my thoughts go out to the girls family.

    Shocking!

crap news mark, i hope you stick it to em in court, what a joke. i dont think they can disconnect you being as you have a young child in the house.
  15. cheers steve, another great addition to an already resourceful site. looks like you really put the hours into this one, i'm sure it will be appreciated.
  16. welcome to the forum, good luck with your job huntinting. maybe put a thread up in the employment section and tell us what you have to offer.
  17. sorry to hear about your mate, glad hes ok. good on the homeowner for their quick actions. lorry, youre a wrongen. i bet it took you ages to traul your hard drive for that pic. lol
  18. i think the point youve missed is that its the turner who produces the finished product that then sells for xx amount of pounds, why should the supplier of the wood profit any more or less from a piece of wood based on what that piece of wood will be used for. if you had one length of wood and 2 people came wanting to buy it, 1 a turner and the other wanting to chop it up into fire wood, is it fair to change the value of that piece of timber depending on who is going to have it? put in another light.... some painters sell their work for hundreds but does that mean they should pay more fore their materials?
  19. a great figure raised there justin, good on everyone who helped to raise it. i hope the family are coping in coming to terms with this tragic loss.
