  1. allbeit said in jest mate, but this comment probably wouldnt sit well with the mods. please refer to forum rules.
  2. its got a ring to it. no pun intended. lol
  3. or you could go into hair dressing for a complete career change, that way youd need'nt drive anything bigger than a micra. the attitude that comes across in your post is not going to do you any favours. the fact is HGV is very valuable in the world of arb, so take advantage of the fact you have it and sell yourself with it. youve had many good responses of people offering genuine advice on here and that reply is not the way to thank them. beggars cant be choosers mate and you need to make yourself employable by using what youve got.
  4. as justin said give barbara or richard a ring, very friendly. i was up the last week on a course, hes very knowledgable and professional and i'd recommend them. i also know others that have used them and rate them.
  5. good work flames. i really like the natural edge bowl, i bet it was a nightmare to work.

  15. good for you
  16. congratulations on the find. i'm sure no picture could do it justice or come any where near to how it must be to look at something like that in the flesh (or wood!)
  17. funny, when i first saw rupes picture i thought that was telly savalles. dirty dozen?
  18. i know but only because i cheated, so i wont spoil it.
  19. i havnt used that wax22 yet, i've been meaning to get some. ordered the replacement toolrest holder today, that was an expense i could of done without, only 37 quid delivered so not too bad.
  20. ah that makes abit more sense. i suppose for a three day course theres only so much they can fit in, i would think that the sort of knowledge of cause and effects of what you are inspecting would need a lot more attention ie, college, uni, books, on the job training etc. then the PTI would teach you how to apply that knowledge? i love the bit about it being too risky to deam someone qualified, just another example of how this modern day claim culture complicates things. will quals cease to exist in years to come.
  21. ethan hawke / training day / ????
  22. very nice pieces ian, i really like the grain in the bowl and thats a nice piece of yew. glossy finish, what wax did you use?
  23. good shots.
  24. hi jonathan, the recovery's still going well thanks for asking. i'm back up the hospital next week for the results of a CT scan i had last week. if the results show that the bone is uniting well then they will consider loosening the frame a little to see how i cope with putting more weight through the bone. they are still saying i'm doing exceptionly well so i'm pretty confident about the results. i will keep you all up to date on what happens next week. thanks, dave.
