  2. so what about the pics of you sunning it up in the garden supping a beer between taking out your stresses with the tomahawk. this is a picture thread, you cant just tease us with your sob stories:001_tt2:
  3. ditto that tommy. you should always have a second line when spiking on a pole, put your climbing line around the stem below your strop. strops arent infailable.

alrite stu, yeah i've got a few bits ive turned now, i will put em up on a thread in the new woodwork forum when i get a chance. i think ive got that setup sused now, just need to set it up and try it, you'll be running up the rope!

  8. you big girl:001_tt2: those silky cuts can be pretty nasty, some say silky's are more dangerous than chainsaws and i'd agree to some extent. hope you heel well. just for future reference, carry a reel of electricians tape (the black insulation tape), it does wonders at closing wounds.... at least long enough to finish the job anyway!
  9. not seen one like that before mark, i bet they last longer than the retriever balls.
  10. good looking stuff, well done.
  11. i believe thats where it gets it s nick name 'stagshorn' from. lovely looking tree all season round but as hama said they sucker like mad, so location should be considered carefully.
  12. agree with all the above. be carefull with the sap, some people react quite badly to it. stunning flower and autumn colours.
  13. you could weave the missus a nice garment with all that silk rob. i've never seen anything like it.
  14. great pics. what do you think the long term prospects are for that stunning oak, i cant see those roads and paths being relocated for her to depart naturaly. ibet it looks magnificent in leaf. awsome stump.
  15. nice dinning room suite. i hope the ringing up wasnt a last minute 'erm could you just' from the customer. coz we all know it doesnt take long to cut a few logs lol
  16. only a silky is comparable to a silky. although i havent tried these so i couldnt give a fair opinion.
  17. albere, what youve done looks good work. unfortunately what the tree deserves isnt allways what the customer wants. if youve worked to the customers spec and they are happy then its a job well done plus you got a nice shape to it.
