  10. Yes he is right as all helmets to be used in industry have to go through certain testing which understanably is carried out on sports equipment. in all probability the sports spec helmets will be fine and act in the same way as an industrial spec lid, however if an accident does occur and you are injured then any investigation will highlight your helmet spec and serious problems will arise including: - insurance will be void - open to prosecution for negligence, this could then lead to manslaughter etc etc. You have to forget looking fancy and get a helmet which is approved for industrial use.

  17. Well replied to Rupe's comments which i personally thought were out of order, i think Rupe either isnt a boss or isnt to fussed about his staff if we still did contracting your kit would be included in the landy's. If your staff are important to you or even your own life then why wouldnt you always have the best kit to give you the best survibval chance. Good luck with your future, but to be honest dont think you will with such a great product

  23. I have been to the AA conference, i wouldnt recommend it, its full of people who regard themselves as top bods slagging each other off and generally cock fighting Its a shame really as its another AA event/affair that is a let down. I was in the AA, yes the journals were ok but nothing you cant find on the web for free and in more depth I am not a member of any arb related org, but as stated in another thread i am in other industry org's and we get alot from them.
  24. Well i can say that every major name insurance companies refused to cover us, we had to go to a broker. I take it like this. Me: i would like buildings and contents insurance Telesales chap: do you live in a flood risk area ? Me: yes we do Telesales chap: sorry we cannot insure you ! Now to me that sounds like refusal to offer insurance. If this chap has said this on the radio it proves what a bunch of lieing, bloodsucking scum bags they really are..
  25. Thats true before we just sold our house which was next to a small river near caldbeck, was flooded in 2005 & 06 we had to install flood guards on all downstairs windows and doors, cost 6k. Our insurance premiums rocketed and excess wass increased to 4k for any water/flood damage... When i first saw the earlier post saying alot of people dont have insurance my first thought was what a bunch of idiots but thinking about it my family is lucky that my wife has a good job and my biz is doing well enabling us to pay the insurance fees. So yes feel really sorry for the people in need at the moment and not just for there current predicament but also future problems due to house prices decreasing and huge hikes in insurance premiums, if there is one thing we as an industry can relate to these people is defo the hike in insurance.....
