  1. I get quite annoyed when watching the news or these police programs that show wrong ones getting away with stuff with not even a slapped hand. Paradise has made some excellent comments above, i am big on forgiveness, i know many people who are very bitter over little things and its them who suffer...... Forgiveness is a wonderful thing, if you are bitter about something and to be honest it sounds like many are give forgiveness a try
  2. What a ridiculous comment, if you understood Sharia law you would very quickly change your above statement. I take it your not a Muslim Lee, its a shame that because if Sharia law is in place you would lose your head, whats that noise Lee at the bottom of your road waking you up at 5ish evey morning, oh its the compulsary Mosque that overides planning laws..... Lee i could go on and i suggest you research this before making the comment again, this would have deep impacts for the UK...........
  3. I wouldnt mind getting some survey work off CP, but i would only do it during school holidays, this would attract a premium of 600% on our day rate, but not to worry they can afford it as thats what they raise prices by during any holiday period
  4. That picture they use has been around for 5+ years, so at the time was fine.....
  5. We cant do any survey work at all, just finishing plans off in the office, we have a contract to carry out GIS mapping on several small islands in Greece , would have been lovely to do it now but they want it done in the summer months,
  6. PM your number Dean, i may have some work contracting over Manchester way...
  7. I watched them as well, its weird couldnt turn away, i personally liked the bone nibblers, no sensation but the tugging feeling in the shoulder was weird. I did mine on a really cold day and everone freaked out,i didnt feel anything till it started to warm up in the ambulance, i had to call the ambulance myself while i shot blood out of the end of my fingers at the bunch of girls blouses who were with me. When the ambulance turned up they checked the top of the post to see if they could save anythingm my skin and nail was left on top of the post like a prawn shell in pefect finger shap but with no innards.
  8. I did the same finger with a post knocker, you will have to learn the secret handshake and join our club, its very exclusive. The weird bit will start when you get an ich on the bit thats missing
  9. Yes it may be lovely but in the real world not financially viable at the moment and probably never will be, i cant even see LA's using it and have been involved in debates with LA's. Most dont even have enough money to buy adequate PPE and upto date equipment for there arborists.
  10. In the UK tree safety is limited and will always see the minimum amounts spent on it to provide evidence that trees are being managed, anything that costs more than £3 ish per tree is unviable and therfore makes thermal imaging commercially unviable and IMO a waste of time. We may get a picus done on average once every three months, a resistograph three times a month. I still and will always say that for 99.9% of trees all you need is a set of eyes, VTA knowledge and maybe a nylon hammer.
  11. dont need to download anything anymore, just got to channel4.co.uk/od i think and watch, i am using at the moment to keep me company while checking data for 4500 trees I have IT crowd on.....
  12. Kapersky is great, we have it installed into all computers and have never had a problem since installing it. However no anti virus will be able to remove this particular virus and the only way to get rid of it is to do a full reinstall, we had it on one computer and it was a complete nightmare, it will keep croping up and also has key loggers built into it + more.
  13. Great those cameras on the highways website, when its working of course
  14. 8 inches in snowy rossendale, wife went off in the landy at 7 and got to work ok, but colne and barnoldswick is really bad and not helped by the idots driving fast and even overtaking. Plenty of reports and plans to keep us busy luckily. Skyhuck, is that a Disco 3, if so how do you find it ?
  15. Did you get them straight from holland or via a uk supplier, any ideas on cost per tree delivered ?
  16. A massive opportunity and long contract has come from saving the day for this company + financial rewards, never celebrated new year anyway so not fussed. Plus if you enjoy your work Lee there is no problem, be positive not negative !
  17. I dont think you need to say anything to most of us who have had dealings, its pitiful really..... Some of the best practicing companies are the smallest, many of which even put the LA's to shame. In contracts i will always get them to quote as you are guaranteed great work, if there are any probs one phone call will sort it rather than being passed around
  18. Worked all day surveying and will be tomorrow so will be in bed for ten, dont see the point in new years anyway, a nice meal with the wife and bottle of champs at 7pm has set me nicely up for a comfy bed
  19. I wasnt claiming i could see what this camera can, why would i want to ? nobody in the real world will pay the large inspection fees associated with it when they can get large scale tree surveys for £2 per tree that will adequately give them the information they need...! What i was trying to say was why on earth would anybody spend all that money on something when all you need is a set of eyes which are free and a £5 hammer to identify most hazards. Plus take in all the feedback from others on different forums and course attendies, well i think that should answer it.
  20. Another massive problem with this is the fact it encourages users to stand far back from the tree, i wonder how many users actually then properly assess the tree or move on to save time.
  21. I think it is still questionable and the fact that Marcus has destroyed any credibility with his antics on the UKTC has destroyed it, it was hillarious though My arb moment of the year award must go to him. Personally i have a super high tech item called a nylon hammer and set of eyes that tell me everything i need to know.
  22. IS your avitar pic at maebie wood in dumfries skyhuck ?
  23. Nice job its about time they were sorted
  24. Unfortunately the C&G Cad course isnt worth the paper its written on. If you search the web and look for intensive courses there are always deals, e-cadassist at the moment they have deals on cad essentials and masters redruced from £1000 ish to pounds £300ish if you book right. These are autodesk verified courses and a worth there weight and then some.
  25. We do ecology, land surveying & landscape architecture as well as arb consultancy. People listen intentely to what we have to say on all fronts apart from trees, they arent important to them, just a thorn in their palm. When we just did arb consultancy i thought it was an important aspect, but know see it as a minor item that ticks a box. We as tree men know trees are important for many reasons but commercially they are either a fortune to manage or in the way of a new development.
