  1. I wish i had time to do that, got a Wii for christmas and its still in the box....
  2. Bit under pressure with alot of work at the moment, find that the best time to get work done is in the wee hours, nobody hassling you, office is nice and quiet..... Just having five mins break and a nice cup of lancashire tea Does anybody else's mind work better at night, always produce the best work from 9pm onwards
  3. Is it for sale, let me know if it is
  4. Vodaphone are useless in the North West and Scotland, we use ours for running DGPS correction when doing high accuracy gps mapping on moors etc for wind energy projects. Also i found with Vphone is there customer service is useless...... Tesco's call centre is based in Greater Manchester (Bury) and they are really on the ball....
  5. No its not, but phones are so cheap anyway...... I cant fault them as reception is exceptional even where vodaphone and orange struggle. Another bonus is its a month by month contract so can be cancelled at any time with no hassle and fees etc. We use windows mobile phones and iphones with it inc using for web access and push email
  6. Tesco monthly contract £30 = Unlimited everything (within reason) nobody can beat this.....
  7. What your saying then is - If everyone else is doing it, its ok for me as well. Thats a very slippery slope to get on IMO.....
  8. I agree with County4x4, every little helps !!!! If people put there effort into making a difference and not pointing out others mistakes things would be alot better
  9. Does any body know how you can estimate how much carbon a mixed broadleaf woodland consumes every year ? A client has asked us to add it into a report, it doesnt have to be totally accurate, just a rough figure. As always thanks in advance
  10. Get them to get there own report....... I have seen alot of reports that just say this to play it safe, there is probably no subsidence at all, the tree is probably just blocking there light etc. The tree looks a significant distance to the house and cannot see it personally, also to note subsidence is usually dealt with by solicitors & insurance as it is a serious concern, i personally think they want the tree out for other reasons and been told to use this approach/scare tactics.... Cheeky G!*s
  11. You need to contact Mr Ed, however i dont beleive he is a memver anymore, if you pm your details i can forward them to him...
  12. I have heard other people talking about these free drawing tools and also just using word shapes, i dont know how you get the LA to accept any of your drawings as they are not working scaleable drawings which is needed. You couldnt produce any special construction plans either
  13. Contact 'Educated Arborist' on this site, he carries them out throughout the UK
  14. Funding is for this DISADVANTAGED........... Stop being a tight bum and pay for it, as Rupe said it is obvisouly to advance your own business £300, you will earn it back in a month
  15. I have always suffered from rubbish reception and heard Tesco Mobile was good and gave it a try, on contract with them now as super reception and unlimited everything for £30 a month... What more can you want ? Buy mobiles sim free from the likes of totalpda.co.uk etc, they always have good deals. I like windows mobile phones esp the HP Ipaqs, greagt for email and general biz management
  16. I dont think they like us Tony, they wont answer my simple questions nor Mr Clark's. Ive given up trying..... We could do with a happy client to join and let us know how good the system is ! Marcus could you give Sam Corngrass a prod as a paid up happy customer i have some questions for him about the end benefits for a paying customer..........
  17. He could be the world famous Sam Corngrass, the man of mystery that no body will talk about......
  18. No, what it seems is people are trying to get simple questions answered and all is given is the same old blurb, there also seems to be a selection process used to avoid certain areas and or comments......
  19. Are we trying to look too far and be too technical ? As in a different thread the question is do we over estimate our importance as arboriculturalists, i think so looking at this afterall a tree is a tree and they are only generally considered if they are a hazard or in the way of a project, people will always look for a hassle free way to manage them and importantly the cheapest option, i often get called up by jo bloggs and if i can way up that what they want is me to go on site and say yes chop down your tree i will just ring a on tools chap and send them around to cut out my fees as its a waste of their money. Thats the way i operate, i have alot of large clients and they like my no messing approach and i couldnt go to them with this Thermal Imaging idea and suggest it as a financially viable solution. BatiArb Stated However, it will only ever be a personal opinion expressed in words. Tony beat me to it, you are relying on many variables and at the end of the day from what you and Marcus told me i would be on the ground and then send the images to you to assess, way to many variables, you are relying on me to do the job right, i am relying on you to do your part right, have i managed to jot down all the variables needed about weather conditions correctly, site conditions, is the equipment working properly, have i set it up properly etc etc. Speaking to a number of LA's and other consultants they have been dratically put off by the Sam Corngrass affair........ Then we add the price of the Equipment, i cant see how the end user could make a profit unless they are out doing the job 5 days a week, maybe itr was viable with the expression to me that i would be the only chap in my area to use it but that has changed Ok, i will bow out of this discussion as i dont see it will ever be viable, a bit like the Picus. Good luck though Andrew with this i hope you prove me wrong and make it a success, afterall i know how hard it is to make new ideas and businesses to work at the moment. Knowledge, Commitment & Hard graft.
  20. We had the discussion with autodesk why cant they charge differing amounts depending on company size We run Autocad Civil 3d as we use it for many applications £5k + £600 a year for the subscriptions service, its just a cost like a contractor buying a chipper etc.
  21. A hp ipaq 614c should work nicely, we have these they have windows mobile on and are touchscreen.
  22. Andrew, could you explain why the market has been totally saturated with trained users, i myself was invited on a course at the begining with the promise that it would be exclusive to a region. I personally didnt attend as i couldnt see the technology taking off as i honestly believe that 99% of clients wont pay for it. After speaking to course attendies not all are 100% happy and many more have been trained than first stated, this must have flooded the market. I still recive emails asking to attend a course. I am sorry you think i am ignorant of the technique, i just dont see any of my domestic, commercial or LA clients willing to spend money on it.
  23. What i am saying Steve is all bitterness does is ruin yourself, best just to be the better man, forgive and move on with your life rather than keeping it inside building up.... I have seen many people ruined by this and its such a shame
