  1. I very much doubt you will ever or have ever got 1cm accuracy, with the dgps beacon you may get roughly 1m and if you have post processing software you may be able to get 45cm if you change the mean to 20 readings which means standing around why the unit calculates the 20x and averages the readings, very time consuming and commercialy unviable # Also add in tree canopy disturbance to sat tracking will prob knock any accuracy upto 1.3m+
  2. Trimble are fantastic at making land eng survey equip but unfortunately they fall flat with gps survey hardware, we have had the geo range and got rid of them all we now run magellan CX handhelds or toughbooks with trimble pro xrs backpacks. If you want super accuracy we have a Trimble 5800 setup with base station and rover which maps at 1mm accuracy, this can be rented out with operator if any one is interested. We also carry out land survey/topo surveys as well.
  3. The only prob with yours peter is it is mainly flash based which means it is un searchable by bots meaning a high s-engine ranking is unlikely..
  4. That would cost about £300 from us, Edit: actually having another quick look it would prob be more like £250
  5. I helped develop a well known tree management software and also the QTRA plugin which is in all the top tree management software. IMO the tree magement software solutions out there are well overpriced for what really is a very simple bit of script and database writing, i would stay well well clear of them all. Get my number off Ed or i will see you tomorrow and ask away, we have a number of gis programs and have developed many databases for different clients, Dont go for either of the above though. Our choice at the moment: AutoCAD Map 3d Autodesk Map Guide Enterprise Autodesk Topobase Digiterra PocketGis Arc Gis ArcPad Survey Link
  6. What about a thanks to the delivery company, justin just popped it into a bag
  7. Really, i would class that as very low risk....
  8. Sorry typo meant to say 1) they will seriously injure themselves due to lack of skill/experience = will stop doing it
  9. I dont mind people like this because 1 of 3 things will prob happen.... 1) they will seriously injure themselves due to lack of insurance = will stop doing it 2) they will significantly damage property = will stop doing it 3) they havent got a clue about tree law and will fell tpo trees and get fined = will stop doing it.
  10. Send recorded delivery so you can prove they have recived the letter.....
  11. Say fair enough dont pay but unfortunately i cant pay for my yard and will have to use your drive/property to store chip and logs. Turn up at night when you know they are in, make sure they see you and start to tip on their driveway, they will be out like a flash with there cash... Thats the old school way that i used, nowadays the solicitor sorts it, you have to include heavy penalties in your T&C's , as i see it if they have a problem with it they are generally going to be a problem ..
  12. Acacia, didnt notice that as just scanned the pics to see a pic of the root plate, defo not worth a penny then... We did a BS 5837 report for a large site and i mentioned that we could transplant a large number of the trees, the agents got wind of this and asked us to meet on site, they turned up with price lists from a few well known tree nurseries and asked if we wanted to buy them or sell them for em for the same price as nursery stock.... This is quite common as people try to claw back monet wherever they can..
  13. Any pics of the root plate area ? No chance they will ever get cash for a transplant risk like that....
  14. This is G. applanatum, it is being removed next week along with others by Mr Ed, i have heard the thumb trick being used a few times by what i would call senior arb consultants, if its good enough for them it will do for me
  15. I always thought that beech was susceptible but have heard and read recently that beech is fairly resistant. i think with the close proximity and evidence i have, even though the tree is at the moment fairly ok must go.
  16. I have a beech between 2 syc's that have major armillaria, the ground has heavy ivy cover with rooms everywhere. The beech seems in good nick but you cant deny that the extent of armillaria is allover the place...
  17. I have used jensens and greenmechs in the past but the best is the tw 190dh, crackin infeed and rollers have enough power to drag in larger brash 9x7.5" infeed is most useful as well.
  18. Unfortunately i have to keep the particulars of the job under wraps at the moment, ooooh dont like to be a tease:sneaky2:
  19. We have just inspected all the trees on leigh rd and they are being worked on next week (opposite to marriot golf club) .... Looking at Marriott trees next week on w=leigh rd boundary, they are monster with historic failure over the rd, really scary trees cant understand how they are still there
  20. A massive Beech in Worsley 29m it was covered in heavy ivy, stripped the ivy to carry out aerial inspection and picus at base and intervals up the stem.... Crackintree and prob one of the tallest beech in north manchester
