  2. Not enough to pay the fine when you get stopped for not displaying your # plate
  3. It takes time to get a listing and thats if you have submitted your url to engines,,,,, there are also other tricks to get higher rankings that i notice he hasnt got...
  4. MWC infantry watch anyday for me, also quite cheap.......
  5. Joomla or mambo site running a rockettheme template, nice, not over complicated and easily searchable by google bots etc.. Spot on:001_smile:
  6. That s a beauty.....
  7. I wont disclose our day rates but for a chap who isnt a proffesional (you state this) and only produces reports occasional i question the quality esp of your plans and therfore think you are seriously taking your clients to the cleaners when you charge 500 squids........ This isnt at you gmann as i dont know the quality of your work. BUT I personally am a little sick of people producing crap reports that get thrown back or dont produce a planning consent for there clients only for them to contact a bizness like ours to sort out the mess and find out that actually it would have been cheaper to go for us in the first place..... Our biz has dealt with over 200 planning applications since jan 09 and over 30 of these have been jobs where people have used people who havent got a clue about bs 5837...... I belive that for instance anybody who submits a bs report without detailed cad drawings to scale should not have their apps validated, surely sketch plans are laughable.
  8. Pm me, i have a good network of people who carry out these services, where do you need people ?
  9. Or you could just log on to the site and all the files are there to download...
  10. What do you need, i can email over the qtra folder with all docs/forms if that helps... Are you licenced..
  11. I think there is a mix up in this industry we deal with trees, WE ARE NOT doctors or architects, IMO 500 a day is ridiculous and the consultants charging this are greedy and are damaging the industry..... You mention a picus etc,,,, land surveyors carry 40-50k equipment around with them and there day rates are 400ish, so the equipment argument falls on deaf ears. I know other good consultants who charge £250- £400 a day depending on what the job is. A simple TPO case like this would cost no more than £250
  12. I actually did architecture before i got into tree work, it did help and you could say i fell on my feet when BS 5837 came out.... At the moment i am working on geographical information systems and i must say i was tempted by an Masters course in it but it covers so much i can buy loads of books and study the areas i want to know and need + who really needs a masters or Phd apart from to show off....... My comments are towards arb qualifications really as many proffesions you do need qualifications, arb is still young and i bet most of the on the tools lads on arbtalk caould teach mr degree clean hands a thing or two..... Also a quick point i have seen many of the colleges advertising for instructors/lectures.... i know a couple of lectures that are teaching degree kids Arb who only have level three qualifications......
  13. I suppose its a choice of love rather than need, after all a degree wont guarantee you a job/career in the industry and you will never earn great or even average money. I am a firm beliver in self study, get yourself a load of quality books and attend short courses..... IMO experience trumps a slip of paper any day
  14. I personally wouldnt wast my time with an arb degree, the industry is already saturated with individuals, my boss said he got so many letters at the end of this study year with people looking for jobs + he like many others prefer people with basic qualifications and a good amount of tree surgery experience.
  15. The main problem i guess would be the high centre of gravity, i personally wouldnt want to drive a transit with a tracked chipper on the back, they are sloppy enough to drive never mind with all that weight so high up,,,,, I saw your 110 with a tracked chipper on th 61 at reebok stadium exit yesterday afternoon....
  16. Sorry forgot to add the name, cheers
  17. Inonotus dryadeus The tree has a DBH of 210cm, when given a tap with the nylon it sounded like a giant drum...... Sorry about the poor quality, taken with new phone but left the plastic over the lens, dooh... This was about the size of a size 5 casey.....
  18. A really good atempt at bracing... Note its not the lights they had used good quality webbing and twisted it at point of contact to reduce friction..
