  1. You know me, mate. Always thinking out of the box!
  2. Go round and get it off of him, maybe?
  3. We have one of those yellow ones and it is the 'you forgot your own lid' naughty hat.
  4. Not if he's got a dog, he's not.
  5. You truly are a wrong 'un.
  6. Ah, my mistake.
  7. Tour de France?
  8. I don't think that is legal either. Burn on site or not at all is all you can do, I believe.
  9. Are you saying it's gorgeous or calling us all gorgers?
  10. Will be there on Friday night if the rain stays away.
  11. I'll have the strimmer if I can get it when I come down for Jonesie's show next month.
  12. Does it have a visor and ear defenders?
  13. I'm not saying it doesn't happen. I'm saying don't be surprised if the guy the OP has been working for declines the opportunity to make it easy for the OP by continuing to give him work. Why would anybody help the competition? That's just realistic, after all.
  14. There's always the seafront, mate.
  15. Few pairs of boot laces would be good, Justin.
  16. It depends. Did she live in a caravan and steal things for a living?
  17. My point exactly. Why should he still give you work to support you while you set up your own business to go into competition against him? It would be easy to say 'we wouldn't be competing for the same size jobs' but, at the moment, plenty of firms are having to go for jobs which would previously have been viewed as not their usual thing. By all means talk to the guy, but don't be surprised if he cuts off your supply of work.
  18. 'After doing a small hedge job at work today it got me wondering why I couldn't do jobs like this myself?' Reads to me like he does.
  19. Strikes me as biting the hand that feeds.
  20. So basically you have a guy who will give you all the work you want so you are going to compete against him for jobs?
  21. Well, you learn something every day. Cheers for the info.
  22. It's a course that covers all the fundamentals.
  23. Arbtalk comes up in search engines as soon as people type in anything to do with treework. It's for that reason we have a members only section of the forum.

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
