  1. I wasn't sure if it would be seen as the member of the public acting ultra vires. Surely, being the UK, 5 minutes tutting and a strongly worded letter to the local paper would be the correct response.
  2. Welcome to the British Legal system, Dan.
  3. I freely admit that I'm only guessing and that Andy is probably right.
  4. I thought that there could be possible Criminal Damage implications if a member of the public 'did it themself'.
  5. My guess (and it is only a guess) is that it would be for the L.A to approach the land owner to get the land owner to cut back the vegetation. If the land owner won't do it, the L.A would do the work then probably bill the land owner.
  6. Were you doing your tribute to 'French Lieutenant's Woman' on the Cobh, Jon?
  7. Only if we have a mankini ban.
  8. So you'll be doing dinner on the Friday night then?
  9. Don't worry, it was actually nothing than couldn't be sorted out with some wet wipes and a 60 degree wash in Persil.
  10. One big thing you need is a list of contacts with enough names on it to give 3 or 4 days work a week, every week. If you don't have this, look for employment rather than subbing and slowly build up your experience and contacts. Good luck, fella.
  11. Oooh, you fat knacker.
  12. I haven't had an accident in my shorts since 1973.
  13. Sorting stuff out ready for a move and found a hard copy of what I had downloaded. PM me your address and I will get it posted over to you when I get a chance.
  14. The street trees that I am thinking of are on clay soil towards the bottom a hill so waterlogging would likely be the cause.
  15. Mike, are you still after a manual for that McCulloch top handle?
  16. Does it start with die-back in the crown as have seen several street trees near me with this?
  17. Haven't tented over there so can only comment on attractions. Thought Bayeux was generally overpriced. The D Day museums are generally excellent and can particularly recommend the 360 at Arromanches and the Pegasus Bridge museum at Ranville-Benouville. It's a lovely place to visit and you should try the Galettes at Roche du Ham.
  18. 20%, just sign here.
  19. I think ArbiBarbikini flows better.
  20. Alec, here are the pics of the orchard I want to restore. My apologies for the delay, it's been a bit manic down here. The spacings average about 6m centre to centre of the pits.
  21. Depends what sort of visitors you have, Rupe.
  22. You need to drink more than that.
  23. ....because you're worth it.
  24. I hope for her sake that's just water.
  25. Tony Martin very publicly announced that he would shoot anybody on his land and then shot them in the back with an illegally held firearm. While I sympathise with the situation he found himself in, it would have been difficult to argue his actions as neither premeditated nor unreasonable force.

If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
