  1. Nearly 400,000 acres so far, it's difficult to imagine! New NASA image shows Wallow Fire plume
  2. Is anyone on here FSC certified, what does it cost, involve? I've read the blurb on the website, I would like some realtime input if possible.
  3. Most gamekeepers are paranoid about "disturbing the birds". Apparently a chainsaw working within half a mile of them will frighten them into the next parish, but driving them over a line of guns, and shooting at the feckin things once a week dos'nt do this. In my experience you will do no harm whatsoever, but you will be lucky to find a gamekeeper who thinks that way, many a time I've been hedgelaying and had no end of birds around me. Most gamekeepers are stuck up their own arse I'm afraid. Just my opinion mind.
  4. Get some signs up pronto, it's called "due diligence", and will protect you if something happens, without them, you're a sitting duck as regards a compensation case.
  5. He's getting on now, but still as sharp as a new pin.
  6. Best of luck Matt. Hope the weather is kind to you.
  7. Had ours lit last night, bit warmer today though.
  8. Yep, me. Originally from Cornwall, travelling, and accomodation would'nt be a problem for me, I have sent you a PM.
  9. not getting into the morals of killing things, because I have done my fair share of that, but as TW says there must be wounded animals. Because that guy is such a good shot, when he misses it will not be by a foot, more like an inch. As I say, not against killing things, but not my cup of tea, and if I learnt the venison I was eating came all the way from NZ, I would push it away.
  10. No licenses required to use horses, I don't know anyone off the top of my head in that area, but I can travel no problem, as long as there is a field somewhere local for the horse to overnight in.
  11. Feeling for you, they ai'nt called man's best friend for nothing.
  12. Where do they brew Devenish now then?
  13. It won't kill it, but it is'nt the best time to be doing it. It's difficult with all the growth on now and the nesting issue. Personally, I would walk away from it, but he's your customer and only you know if he's worth it.
  14. Some great pics, thanks for posting:thumbup1:
  15. I could sit for hours and listen to someone like him.
  16. I don't know if this one has been put up before, but some great scenes from a different era, and the memories of a once young man. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gi9Sb3BopWQ&feature=player_embedded]YouTube - Loggers and Their Lore: Becoming a Tree Topper[/ame]
  17. Nothing wrong with giving N feedback, just the wording creased me up, I now have him on my favourite sellers list just so I can keep up with his little gems.
  18. Saw sold for £600, waiting to see feedback
  19. I'll be there for a day out. They usually have a bit of horse logging going on.
  20. I keep telling you guys, horses are the future!
  21. The Duke of Westminster owns a fair bit forestry, I dare say some of it goes for firewood, bit of a tenuous link I know, but
