  1. I have not been on here for some time, but caught up with this thread this morning. Don't know what to say really, other than don't give up. You are a strong man, stay strong. This chap is worth a look at, he has a very enlightened view of access for wheelchair users, especially in the countryside. https://www.facebook.com/simon.saddlechariot?fref=ts All the very best.
  2. I think you will find the reason why "Wales has been having great results with Bovine TB without killing badgers", is more to do with the populace taking the law into their own hands, and the officials turning a blind eye, so they can trot out the statistics, and bury a very hot potato.
  3. If it's public liability, Trust Insurance, or British Horse Loggers, if you're looking to insure the horse itself, numerous insurance companys, look in Horse & Hound or just do a google search!
  4. 'orse an cart 'll do fer they backward buggers in Redruth!
  5. Yep, it's good to see that it's not all about big machinery! The moose is a photoshop, been doing the rounds for some time.
  6. For anyone interested in low impact/horse logging, check out this lady's page, some of the timber they work in is something I could only dream of. https://www.facebook.com/HelenaG.Photography
  7. My money is on your reply, looks like he's going to set up a spar tree, that is one fantastic video

  14. Yes it is now, but that honour used to belong to Bodmin, which was just about famous for it's lunatic asylum,
  15. No, I'm a Camborne boy, Treswithian was my school, although I believe they call it Camborne Comprehensive nowadays.
  16. Sorry to be pedantic, but as a proud Cornishman, Truro is our one and only city!
  17. Stop sitting on the fence and say what you really think, Graham! Where I grew up we had a slaughter house in the village, and as I had family that worked in it I spent a lot of time there, so I had no illusions about where meat came from. The problem now is that the general public are so far removed from where their food comes from, they don't care, unless the media choose to emphasize it. All they see now in a supermarket is marketing and a cellophane wrapped "product".
  18. A lot of horses will have had "bute" given as a painkiller/anti inflammatory drug over the years. This may cause an adverse reaction if given in high enough doses, although they are saying you would have to eat 500 contaminated horse burgers for you to reach "danger" levels. Would'nt worry about it to be honest, still more chance of being run over by a car I think the other thing is, that if we buy something we want what it says on the tin, not what the supermarkets can make most money out of, this has been going on for years, and they knew it.
  19. Done well to rear them all, look good strong pups.
  20. Update; spoke to the tree officer, who was very helpful and said as they are old and knackered, and the owner intends to replant, send email and do it under a 5 day notice. Thanks for the advise everyone.
