  9. Barf diet is best for canines, and it need'nt be over expensive. Just look out for the cheapest bulk bags of chicken legs/wings, things like that, and let 'em eat horse poo if they want too, does them no harm, and it's free.

  14. Yeah, it's good to see how things used to be done without grapple loaders and such. As Charlie says, if you are going to be loading by hand, think smart and make things easier for yourself, otherwise you'll just end up with a bad back and big bollocks.

I have the Hathaway-Capstick books Sam, have not heard of the Hemingway one which is a surprise as I love his story telling, For Whom The bell Tolls and The Old Man and The Sea being among my favourites, also his bull-fighting books. It has been an expensive afternoon for me, I went to amazon to find the book Hodge recommended, bought it used for 17p and then bought 3 kindles for the offspring . Still thats Christmas sorted in one fell swoop. But thanks to you I'm now going to have to look for the Swazi man book.
  22. For anyone who like countryside/farming books there is a nice little set of 3, called The Spacious Days, Hallowed Acres and the Glory Days, by Michael F. Twist. All about life on an estate at Burnham in the pre 2nd world war days. Well worth a read.
