  1. I have seen this a few times on hear. Wood given to the public cheap or free. But that member of the public is unlikely to deliver you a cheap loan or sell your house for you free or offer the service they provide in their work. Some of the worst wood fairies I have met live in big houses with two nice cars in the drive. The public get cheap or free wood kills the business of the local log man who buys his cord in at £70 a tonne. If you are a tree surgeon offer it in the firewood forum to members for a small fee. That way its efficiently and safely removed you have not got to cart all of it home and you have a few quid. I have done this with a few members on hear and it seemed to work very well. Perhaps we need to state a fair price per tonne for arb waste so one side is not too greedy and the other to tight.
  2. I had a small one but went to Argos and they do a really good samsung monitor for about £125.00 23 inch. Means you dont have to pan from left to right. I think the thread was about someone with a big ego.
  3. Thats not strictly true I gave my kids £6 in 2ps at southsea amusments a few weeks ago and they come out with absolutely nothing apart from a big smile.
  4. I was only joking looks fine on my 24in screen might be a squeeze on a 15" though.
  5. Definately in my case
  6. I thought what he was saying was over 5 years he has picked everyones brains for free without contributing much. Now cant be bothered to pass on the info to the younger guys. After 5 years of employment on arb talk one person has not paid ( thats life it happens ) and by the way sounds like we are all sad. How much is a bulk bag of logs worth
  7. I can nearly see all that picture If I run up and down the room
  8. Agree with above, start with cleaning and checking the obvious look at the expensive things last. I would think about teeing a simple gauge into the fuel line after the fuel pump and watching the fuel pressure as you drive you may suddenly find the pressure drop off. Make sure you dont have a tank breather pipe trapped crushed or blocked.
  9. Have they got knobs A forum is partly successful due to its members and how its run I see it has 17000 members now and that does not include the lurkers in the back ground. Subjects on here will be influenced by what 17000 people are interested in and reply to. I am not leaving you got to throw me out. I still dont know how many logs in a cubic meter
  10. I think we have been in the directory for 4 years and every year it pays for its self many times over. The first year got us a customer who spends at least £5000 a year and has been back every year. Get it done especially at that price.
  11. I had a international 684 it had a hole between the block and liner the size of your little finger. I filled it up with gasket sealant and it run the processor for the last 5 years. The tractor was rank and badly looked after by us but it never missed a beat.
  12. Hilux they have the least equipment, the lowest power, tow the least and cost the most. But I have found they go to the moon and back 10 times with a trailer and never miss a beat. Nothing against the rest just what I have found.
  13. We had a new shape vito on 54 plate when it was 6 years old there was a rust hole in the rear door where the wiper was the size of your fist. I worked out it would not get through another mot without alot of welding underneath and sold it.
  14. This week my 60 plate discovery had a new diff. It was back one day before the turbo packed up. Yesterday our BMW 320d eat the swirl flaps and shagged the engine. Listening to the stories I think its best to avoid anything made in Europe.
  15. your first loss is your best loss dont get caught twice.
  16. This almost looks like a bit of common sense creeping in ie 62 miles radius. At some point the civil servants will work out alot of people cant be arsed to work because they just make it so difficult for no reason. If I really wanted to drive 16 hrs a day I would just get two trucks with two tachos does the tacho thing really improve safety or is it just to keep the hauliers happy
  17. I collect off cuts for the kindlet so they are for me I have been weighing up a new trailer the 0.8 bags are a bit tight in my 6ft6 wide trailer but not keen on a 7 1/2 ft wide. can you slide the bags in past the mesh without ripping.
  18. When you put your bags on how do you secure them so they dont look like they are going to spill out the side. I put 8 kiln dried bags on my 16ft ifor and I think there was getting on for 2.5 tonnes of wood.
  19. I have this for sale in the arb trader on here £3500 + vat Toyota mk 4 Hilux proffessional conversion perfect for log deliveries.
  20. I cant remember where I saw it but there was a sharpening band welding setting serious machine for sale looked a complete steal if you needed one. It was either on here or one of the auction sites. It was about a month ago. I was tempted to buy it and I have no use for it and would not know how to work it.
  21. ifor do a 12ft tipper with sides and mesh that you could section as well. I know you like to deliver lots in one go.
  22. If there were no MDs or fast food they would be throwing Ginsters or tesco hot chicken bags about. I think they wait till they get to a nice village just to show their disrespect. I think its called jealousy
  23. I think he means if your gross train weight goes over 3.5 tonne you need a tacho
  24. I have never seen figures to convince me logs can compete with gas. I always think of logs as bit of a luxury item. Most people burn them on high days and holidays.
