  1. There is a pile of demolition timber the size of a football pitch at Raymond Brown at Barton Stacey about 30 miles from Slough. They try sending theres to Holland so the rate must be poor at slough.
  2. Or the manufacturers could pay the going rate then there would not be a problem.
  3. I produce a metre of fine dry softwood sawdust a day when making kindling. I used to give it to someone making briquettes he has packed it in. if anyone wants it nr Andover hants for free I have about 5 metres at the moment.
  4. I didnt notice her feet maybe she dropped the bar on it. She not got any PPE on oh no that was another thread
  5. My brothers girlfriend tried it and got a new car. I tried it on the wife she got a new car and I got a piece of junk so it does not always work
  6. If the rest fails to work tears may be good
  7. Dont loose any more sleep over it. Whether they pay for it or not its a few lumps of metal at the end of the day and no one was hurt. Things like this happen in business its a shame it happened early on in your business. Hope you get a good outcome
  8. I tend to keep 2.0% stuff around so if I really fancy a couple of cans during the week it does not feel so bad. Asda do 4 cans for a quid not great but drinkable. Most lagers now are nearly 5% continental strength which due to lack of fluid is probably 4 times the strength of the cheap stuff.
  9. Your comment about my clap trap remark has left my self esteem at an all time low, I am off to empty the fridge ( starting with the beer ) will give the self harming thing a miss though
  10. But do you repair them under warranty for half your normal hourly rate. No problem service and repair on stuff bought elsewhere.
  11. I service generators at Bluewater in kent and I have noticed alot of the girls are all orange there.
  12. I think the problem the dealers have is the labour rate for warranty work is about £20-25 an hour which is tight when you have over heads. Now you dont mind if its for a year on a piece of kit you supplied and made a profit on but if someone is box shifting and killing your business why should you clear up their mess. People often bring stuff in for free repairs but when the years up do their own so its not like you are building a long term relationship with them. I have no axe to grind as we dont serve the public of the streets. I can see it from both sides but people work the system to suit their own needs. Buy cheap long distance get repaired free on the doorstep.
  13. 0.7 cubic metre just about moveable on smooth surface. 1 cu metre big heavy and you get under cut by the fly by nights. 0.5 cubic metre too small, look small not worth filling.
  14. Use a 3 metre strop and some d shackels so you pull evenly on both tipping loops that way they only take half the strain. I used to empty 1.5 cu metre bags this way and they have the same strength loops.
  15. I am sure if you go on the knitting forum it would be full of feminist clap trap and the odd pick of a mankini. Each to there own no offence to the female arbs may be they should have a bloke with a sugari bar hanging down the front.
  16. Sending a saw by post must cost £8 ea way. Not to mention the enviromental impact of sending stuff by road all over the country. If this extra £16 was payed to the local dealer I am sure they would be more willing to repair kit sold elsewhere.
  17. I must be missing something here You buy something it breaks you get it collected they send you a new one ? What if they decide you dropped it, or abused it ? I get the feeling a few people feel the local dealer is a dinasaur but in most cases this is just not true. They are well grounded businesses run with common sense and moving with the times. You may not get what you want this instant but thats life.
  18. Would have been better without the bar and stars
  19. I would stick at £95 and reduce the size of the load. Or increase the size of the trailer and charge £125.00 Breaking the £100 barrier will be difficult.
  20. I heard it from about 4 different sources but it well be open to big contracts just not transits with green waste. I would have thought you know nick being on your doorstep.
  21. Could be 16ft trailer and the bottom could be 4ft wide. I have a 16ft ifor and work on filled to top of sides is 3cu metres so allowing 45% for air space thats about 1.5 tonnes. Bit of a heap on top as well should still be under 2.5 tonnes. I tend to use a few more ratchet straps
  22. Health and safety manager for a large corporate.
  23. I think alot of those subsidies have disappeared in the last few months thats why that shut drax at Slough. Good news for the smaller suppliers in the wood game.
  24. I bought a new Nissan Navarra from Dan Perkins in London because they were £1400 cheaper. When I tried to get warranty work done locally they were reluctant and I tried 4 different garages over 3 years.
