    Chipping!

[nQUOTE=Scott01;1375426]Good evening, I know of someone who will have quite a large quantity of conifer to chip and take away in Tonbridge Wells in the next couple of months and are looking for quotes. Anyone interested? If so, I'll pass on your details. Many thanks, Scott I am, 07505134004
  2. They produce large volumes of chip, which with typical levels of equipment can be hard to get rid of/process quickly.
  3. The 362, I am happy with the performance of mine so far
  4. It's a cheap price, it's not really practical to do anything for as little as that, but a poor service justified by lies is unacceptable.
  5. Firstly because I believe in capitalism, and I'm not seeing all these gross injustices. No one ever promised a good life would be easy to attain, so we can and do work to get that, a system that promotes anything else isn't going to be sustainable. Furthermore, I often hear of people 'saving up' their tax credits or receiving back payments etc and paying for holidays or extravagant (relatively) cars with the money. If they were legitimately in need of this money they'd be using it to repay all the debt they amassed 'just getting by' in the interim period without the tax credits.
  6. Oh well, maybe that's the problem here, most of the nation feel they are owed more than they earn...and sadly have been getting it.
  7. What happened? I tried reading back but got bored of all the immigration talk.
  8. Cut the tax credits completely, if people can't afford to support kids don't have them. Hopefully £1000 is just the tip of the iceberg, I'd like to think those of us who work hard and smart won't be subsidising the lazy/stupid etc etc due to their poor life choices for much longer.

    New truck

Sounds good, you'll wonder how you coped without it once it arrives.
  10. Why does the sides being faced change things ?
  11. I did this with mine when the injector light appeared, they're expert advice? Replace everything from the fuel tank up to and including all the injectors!!!! They didn't have a clue or were rubbings so and so's. The probably was a governor/sensor in the back of the high pressure pump took no more than an hour to replace and cost £90.
  12. You just need to reverse everywhere in shallow arcs, never straight, then you know roughly where it's going, or get a camera, just looked them up they're surprisingly cheap!

    Wages fair pay

We're not any of those trades. Also the industry is plagued with small firms undervaluing the work...For a start.
  14. I bought a new 261 a few weeks back, running a 15-16" bar it cuts brilliantly, even in bar size wood.
  15. Where will you be working? as an owner operator/contractor the tickets will be of little value unless commercial clients want them. Last item I checked there are two, over 10 ton and below. The larger one will qualify you for both you gain a probationary type qualification then topknot up to full with seat time.

    Wages fair pay

This is the whole problem, these young lads and old to be fair, do not grasp the real difference between being self employed and employed. Easy to forget the weeks they spend not working over the year when faced with £10+ day rate difference. But when worked out accurately the employee is nearly always better off.
  17. Haha! Worth every penny, life's too short to use sub standard gear
  18. I use these http://www.philipmorrisdirect.co.uk/le-chameau-mens-chasseurnord-wellington-boots/product/ Had the, a few years very comfy they fit like a decent shoe or boot rather than the traditional sloppy feel. And appear to be very hard wearing and lasting very well this will be their 3rd winter.
  19. Cut and hold, although this is really standard procedure and none of us are going to aim to stop doing it IMO. Forgetting to put visor down. As mentioned before it's very annoying seeing ground staff walk under a tree without even glancing up.
  20. About £2.5k for kingpins axle seals oils etc and front brakes on lorry, glad they'll all last a very long time!
  21. This is the funny thing with the Arb industry it seems to want to be special or different...We're neither it's just ropes, slings, mechanical devices etc they're used in loads of industries and these guys serve those industries with a far greater frequency than ours. I'm sure if they can certify all the fancy swivels etc used for lifting and inspect cranes etc they can handle a lock jack or bulldog bone just fine. The fact their price is realistic IMO just reflects that they're working for normal contractors who realise LOLER isn't a niche that you need to pay through the nose for.
  22. Medway sling co in Strood, far cheaper than all these 'arb' LOLER testers. And they stock hundreds of great slings crabs shackles etc
  23. Honest, reliable, not cash strapped and desperate!! A good work ethic and the correct tickets, driving licenses and experience for the wage they are expecting.
  24. How wide is the machine with your wooden wheels on?
  25. Painting the truck or using other air tools is he only reason to pay more. If you don't need these then a cheap and cheerful one is spot on.
