I've had the Stihl pole saws since them came out, the first ones would wear out the roller bearings on the shaft after 6 months and were expensive to replace and fix, I've had the 4 Mix 1 now for about 4 years I think, it's never given me any bother and runs like new. I use the hedge cutter head on it a lot which adds much more stress to the shaft when extended, so there is a little twist or bend in it, but that's through the abuse I give it, and it's not made for that.
