i've been lucky enough to have gone there several times (mainly for the fishing) pm me and i'll give you the number for the local taxi driver i use, he's a brilliant bloke and will take you and show you all the best bits, he is better than any tour guide ive ever heard of and doesnt charge the earth, he will also sort you out with the best places to eat (and you'll pay "local" rates rather than tourist rates) but either way, enjoy yourself
  6. Haix protectors here. tried the eltons couple of years ago, what a pile of pants they were
  7. i had a twin axle trailer, loaded to the hilt with ash logs stolen last tuesday from a compound near cardiff. it was chained to a steel shipping container, boxed in by containers, skips and a lorry and the scum suckers brought a hiab in and lifted it (complete with logs) over the containers. spoke to the police and was told........"dont think you'll see that again, do you want a reference number for the insurance?" someone tell me why we pay tax etc?????
  8. i've used adas and ben rose from boski trees a few times, both are very good and are willing to cover just about anywhere in the uk. easiest way to find either is a google search. either that or i'll try and find their numbers out if you want
  9. i once looked at buying a cottage in St Ives it was called "the pokey hole" and it was on fanny street. another good one down there is Teetotal street. made me laugh anyway:blush:
  10. many a moon ago i was an apprentice brickie. working at this guys house when a smart guy (suit, rolex the works) comes walking round the side, offers to mix up some more compo while i take a few bucket loads up to the plasterers. fair play to the guy, he did a preety good job (and was a really nice guy to talk to)............found out later he was SIR ALFRED McALPINE. as for the banks, i always wear my work clothes, once had a snotty little cow try treating me like crap so i just shouted out that i want to see the manager......NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! and if they didnt want my bloody money then i want it all back NOW and would take my business else where. oddly enough i have never had a problem in there since ( i had also just had a couple of very good months so the bank balance was very healthy)
  11. i did a couple of refresher courses with them last year, also put a few of the lads on some refreshers with them.
  12. best 1 i had was a complete road closure and a few boy racers/ wannabes moved the signs etc and tried using the closed section of road as a race track, when asked to leave because there would be trees coming down shortly i was told to f@*k off before they killed me and set fire to my van and chipper. i did the natural thing on this occasion........ called the police. they got the kiddies moving and then i dropped a couple of nice sized tree either end of the closure, just behind the signs, no saxo's getting passed them:001_tt2:
  13. i've done several JKW sites and tried several methods. the best method i've found is to bend/snap the stems (do not cut) and spray straight away with tourdon 22k. its not 100% (nothing i've found is) but it is the best i've found

  17. we've got 5 jensens and 1 timberwolf, the only time the timberwolf leaves the yard is when there isnt a jensen available, the boys all have the choice i dont tell them what to take. read into that what you will i am not knocking the tw but its just not as good as a jensen in my opinion
