  16. sand another piece of the same wood, mix it with wood glue and smear it in, when it dries just sand it off, it'll match up nicely and if done right you'll barely notice it. have a practice on some scrap bits first though to make sure your happy with how it looks.
  17. people have probably already mentioned it but try avon skin so soft. failing that, give liam at treevolution and ask him about smidge, its supposed to be the best stuff about and has got the bonus of no deet

  19. another quick 1, sounds stupid but does anyone know anyone famous that may be willing to show their face (get a bit more attention and so few more people through the gate as it were) cheeky bugger time. what about a bit of sponsership from suppliers??? hint hint everyone advertising. sorry if this is out of order but if you dont ask you'll never know
  20. thanks for the support guys. as of yet i havent thought about where, when etc it was just something i got thinking about, was thinking about asking national trust or local council or someone as they could use it themselves as a bit of a advertising thing but if people are willing to travel then either try and find a central location or maybe do a few through out the country? will take a fair bit of planning and organising i'm guessing. also does anyone know where we'd stand re insurance? i know we've all got it but what if some of joe public want to have a go? would getting them to sign a waver be ok or would we still need something? anyone got anything else to add please feel free cos i get lots of ideas and then never do anything about it:blushing:
  21. evening lads and ladies. hope you take 2 min to read this and add your thoughts to it. having recently lost another lad from my local town in afganistan i got to thinking about trying to do something for help the heros chairity, what do you think about a bit of a recreational climb about, maybe ask local councils, national trust etc and have a bit of an open day, say a fiver or tenner entrance fee with all money going to help the heros (maybe even 1 or 2 others as well) bring a bar b q. if its in a park what about non climbers having a go (show off in front of the kids etc) get anyone who wants to climb sign a liability waver or something. thoughts please..........but be gentle, its only a thought at the moment thanks
  22. all fair comments. as for the teeth, when i slipped the ics swung round and hit me, not saying the dmm wont but because its lighter it may not have had so much force behind it. i still like the dmm though so nur:001_tt2:
  23. doing a forestry job a few weeks back, double red etc the full monty and had a BUS FULL OF SCHOOL KIDS over take the waiting traffic and come through. stopped the driver and politely asked what he was playing at and got told to "go away you silly man"(obviously not as polite as that) with that a big douglas came down across the road and the driver (politely) told me that we really should be more careful because he's got kids on the bus. tried to figure out where he was coming from but have failed, any suggestions?:confused1:
  24. its smaller and lighter than the big yellow thing that i got that has also got my teeth marks in it from when i was trying to tie it into the top of the tree, lost my grip slightly and the bloody thing swung round and smashed my already false teeth. yes the dmm is twice the price but my teeth cost me £740, i'll let you do the math. its horses for courses at the end of the day, going on your arguement rupe, why do people buy a £300 harness when a £150 will do the same job, why use a hitch climber or any of the other shiney bits of kit that we all like and collect. do mean to sound rude or anything but the question was has anyone used 1
  25. they've already done 1, its on tracks:001_tt2:lol:
