    On ash.

I know I should have looked but the pic was taken in such a hurry that I forgot:blushing:

    On ash.

These two on part-decayed live ash. I'm sort of thinking P. squamosus but are these two the same? Only about 100mm diameter.
  3. The phone wires will break his fall:thumbup1:
  4. He was hanged at the same time as his accomplice but in different prisons.
  5. Looks like good partridge country. Lovely. Are there many there?
  6. I reckon they'd learn a lot quicker with that wired to a .410 and some rice:001_smile:
  7. Had an ongoing problem with mine going into limp mode at regular intervals. Had to pull over, turn off engine and wait for click from behind glovebox. I was told it's the ECU sensing an overboost from the turbo. Since blanking off the EGR valve I haven't had a problem...touch wood!
  8. A lot of them have Fistulina. Just starting to form at the bases I noticed. Also lots of Laetoporous. These woods are scavenged by Polish mushroom hunters so most FBs never reach maturity. One tree had a bracket of P. quercinus in a cavity last year but can't find it this time. Maybe too early?
  9. A few pics. Unfortunately just as I was about to take a shot of an unidentified fungi the dog picked it up and squashed it.
  10. Sad but she can hardly be compared to Hendrix/Morrison
  11. The only ones I've been involved with were always planted with pioneer and nurse spp. Predominantly Alnus incana (Italian alder?) for its nitrogen fixing and birch (pendula and pubescens) with a small proportion of hazel, mountain ash etc.
  12. It is THE only way to properly describe any living thing that can then be identified the world over. It is nothing to do with any intellectual status and is not all latin. There's a bit of ancient Greek thrown in and some anglicised latin.
  13. Moth looks like the Common Swift.
  14. I'll pack my trunks if I ever do that trip then:001_smile:
  15. Not sure it will hit anyone hard. It was dead on its feet anyway.
  16. If something sounds too good to be true then it invariably is! I'd never heard of it though.
  17. Lovely looking pup. Has he a fair bit of Gwibernant in his pedigree?
  18. Looks like it should be in a suburban garden keeping the gnomes company:001_smile:
  19. Lots of scuff marks in the soil which look like a dog's been skidding whilst biting the trunks.
  20. I'm guessing this is dog damage which has happened overnight on a site we're working on'
  21. All the best to him. On the plus side it'll leave on hell of a duelling scar to impress the ladies!
