    haha great photo, hope your boss has a sense of humour! lol The lorry cant have hit it that hard as those posts are designed to crumple upon impact and be flatened, as appose to the car/lorry being wrapped around it. 1000th post, what do i win!

    My dad used to use a natural repelant, cant remeber the name. But it was strong enough to put me off going near it to!

    Its the best way to go about it mate, just strip down and have a play to see how they work. The best mechanics i know are self taught.

    Yep, still got the old engine out of it mate. I had a new engine put in shortly before i sold it because i thought the big end bearings had gone because it had a bad knocking noise. Ive been meaning to strip down the old engine to see what the actualy problem was and plus i fancy some piston paper weights

    Right guys and girls, hopefully you remember this thread... I took the head off the engine today and the pistons seemed to have markings as if the valves had been hitting the piston, this sound plausable? Or is it just a large build up of carbon and the valves are marking that instead of the piston itself. im thinking the cambelt slipped and knocked the timing out ever so slighty, and the knocking noise is infact valves and pistons hitting. This is only my first diagnosis lol will dig deeper and see what else i can find.

    Looked good that, i quite enjoy taking down eucalyptus trees, only when the weathers right though, which isnt often! Groundie looks like he handled the lowering well to.

    Ive not used one but landmark trading sent me a letter yesterday with a load of offers on, and the rope guide was on offer for £120 i think. Dunno if thats "cheap" as i know they cost a fairbit anyways.

    My one and only arb "interview" consisted of a days trial, and just general chit chat throughout the day and at lunch with the boss about why i want to do this type of work, you know normal interview questions. This is how i would conduct "interviews" if i was looking to employ people. So in answer to your question, turn up in your kit ready for some work. Likes been said before, dont lie about what your good at. It will come back and bite you on the arse!

    The green stihl 2stroke oil, i forget the proper name for it. Dont usually use stihl chain oil as it costs a fair bit, i just buy whatever chain oils avalable at the time.

    Its good to have friends in the right places when it comes to tree work, i have friends who work for BT and some who work for western power. They happily give me advice when i want/need it and a small back hander will soon sort out any broken BT wires lol

    keep the 361 and sell the 260! I would just get a 15inch bar anf 20inch bar for the 361, and swap them as you need them.

    the back handle ms200 is a good saw, its the most used saw at work and takes some battering both on the ground and in the tree. But if your looking for a small saw suitable for sitting near a chipper, and doing the odd bit of other work, id reccomend the ms180, for the price, you cant knock it.

    Ive snapped the twiglatch on my ms200t, you know... the bit that you have depress before you can pull the throttle in? Im going to have to take the handle apart to replace it, but am i right in thinking that generally when you take the handle apart on an 020 that everything flings out and is a mission to put back together? The saw still works fine, so i doubt its a job il get around to ASAP Anyone replaced one before? Will it be just easier for me to take it to a dealer rather than me trying to mess about putting the handle and all the controls back toegther myself? Cheers

    I think its good, when people show an interest in why trees are coming down and stuff, providing the speak nicely and dont come shouting at you. Saying that, my people skills are rubbish and i get annoyed with them to easily. Keep your ear muffs down, saw running and pretend you cant here them. they will soon move when there falling branches left right and centre lol
