  7. Its covered in the AFAG guide http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/afag401.pdf
  8. My top 3 stories that had me in stiches would have to be... Me walking along with a saw in my hand, going over to a conifer hedge we had just removed to cut the stumps lower. Wondered over and dissapeared down into the ground, i had fallen down a manhole, the cover was rusted through and covered in ivy. No way would i have spotted it. Once i had got my head around what had just happened and i relised i was ok i just burst out laughing. We were taking down a eucalyptus, all had to be lowered there was garden shed below, hedging that couldnt be damamged etc... my boss was climbing and lowered one small branch off, as he cut through the branch and it went for abit of a swing, the rope slid off with it being such a smooth bark. It all happened so gracefully and the branch managed to miss every target on the way to the ground and landed as if my boss was meant to put it there! Finally when we had our old hilux at work, we felled butt of a cherry tree into the back of it, it went into the back with inches to spare and took up the whole bed of the truck. As it came down the front end was launched up in the air and then came down with a mighty thud. Needless to say nothing was broken on the truck but it had me in stiches!
  9. I drink 4litres of water during the summer, also looking to change my helmet to a really light one, and use "in-ear" ear plugs instead of ear muffs. I can take having hot legs and body but gotta keep my head cool otherwise i suffer big time!

  14. Looking good, i had a mate who used to light his fags on the tractor exahaust manifold!
  15. 25m sounds abit tall for a silver birch, but if thats right then yh, that reduction would be fine IMO
  16. I think filling tires with water is only benificial to tractors with roof mount cranes
  17. I think the weight is fine, i could happily use an ms441 all day as my only groundsaw, any heavier it would start getting abit of a pian
  18. My first saw was a ms341, loved it when i bought it and still love it now! Just wish id gone for the ms361 for that little bit more power, for little if no weight increase. But the ms341 was going cheap at the time.
  19. My quick effort, doing a reduction and deadwood on an old oak tree. Was trying to take more photos but my phone was playing up, and i was quickly informed to "put that phone away and get back to work!" There was coronets and everything! Sorry Mr D!
  20. Cant be doing with that rubbish! Id burn it, smells abit though, blink and its gone to!
  21. Theres tons of youtube videos, this is the first one i came across. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6pkmUNfdbk&feature=related]YouTube - riphay scuffle 2009[/ame] Its basically a big off roading event down my way, i think the one and only rule is that you need a 4x4, any shape, size, make, goes... 100's of people enter, and your lucky if your truck comes out alive. Most people who enter are pissed up farmers, have a drink, then go for a drive in the mud, have a drink and a snooze, then go and play in the mud abit more. Tis fun though!
  22. Nothing wrong in taking that to a scuffle. Any you guys know about/have been to riphay scuffle. Pure madness and mayhem!
  23. Alder? Do you mean Elder? I find alder is great, you should try drying yours abit more me thinks. And as others have said, wet wood is what burns the worst. If its dry, it burns.
