  10. i Christened my art ropeguide today and cant believe how much better it is than a cambium saver really enjoyed it and that was on a take down cant wait for a nice big tree
  11. i leave mine on the one line all the time, you have to take the cam out and still thread it all the way through. you cant (i dont think) squeeze a splice through it so means running it through bout 50m of rope
  12. someone started a thread for work in berkshire if your still looking
  13. not had mine long enough to go through cams but im converted to my spiderjack, had the vt out the other day just for a reminder and it felt like a pain in the ass for tending to slack and maybe making adjustments to the hitch (might be my naff tying). With the spiderjack everything is with one hand. love it (and cheers for your advice regarding dartmoor (didn't want to derail))
  14. ok so finally got the landy back and turns out it was worn copper washers on the injectors, so new o ring and copper washers and jobs a good un. managed to drive 13 miles with no problems so hopefully will still be good tomorrow
  15. Thanks for replies and advice, have to agree its rubbish waiting a whole year before a resit makes more pressure for this one to not mess up but at least its only one unit
  16. I know i went into it really under prepared and knew i would not do well but i even think someone with bs5837 experience would struggle with the points they want and the time given, i was most nervous about the oral in that section but felt it went well. I spent too long surveying the trees and probabaly should have knocked most on the head? i was prob to emotive about keeping trees and not looking at it from a longevity point of view. Having no experience within the area didnt help and i felt overwhelmed of trying to fit in a car park next to what i felt a lot of trees. Now feel free to tell me to man up and welcome to the real world
  17. Just a small tape sling or sewn sling is what you need
  18. Im unfortunately waiting for the day mine gets nicked, been down to devon and cornwall over the holidays and had to leave it behind but then there is an advantage of it currently broken down lol. i got the rear window guards plus tints still scares the crap out of me reading these posts though
  19. I got one for xmas only too wet yesterday to play, roll on the new year. i will need less friction cos i will be so fat lol.

  21. its in the garage now so cant check these things, but will be glad to get the modified loom put in. all the lights are illuminated ie engine management, coil, oil pressure handbrake etc and the engine management and coil go out. I love it when its working but kind of missing my tdi right now
  22. started up this morning, great news..........and died going round a roundabout doh! getting a modified loom fitted and tempted by a starter for good measure. i have been cursing it but still love her
  23. had diagnostics done today with no error readings, the garage thought it was starter but ended up playing with the crank shaft sensor and started working.........only for me to get home and start playing up again. decided to investigate ecu and have found oil, gave a quick clean to get excess off and started up better and repeated and started up nearly like normal. just hanging the loom to self clean, hopefully will have done it
  24. Awesome bit of kit, great for breaking down big timber into billets. Can be used on your own but works well as a two man team so can easily pass back the split timber if needs splitting again. heavy bit of kit so need a suitable size trractor, my mate runs his on the back of a county 754
