  3. If it is split and stacked to allow the air to circulate, and a cover over the top to keep the worst of the rain off, it should be below 25% moisture with in six months. Left in rounds it will take at least a year. Get it split

  11. On a moterway run to Gloucester i managed about 32-34 mpg, but i normally get 28-29 grubbing in the undergrowth. That is with a 300 tdi enginne

  17. You will not be able to get enough tension in the rope/wire by hand, to be able to tension the rope properly, let alone with the addition weight of timber/ brash. You might with a couple of hand winches, but it will be painfully slow and hoplessly inefficient. If there is a footpath running through the site you will be able to get a compact tractor and winch in, that will be able to be removed from site each evening. Don't go making hard and tedious work harder than it has too. Somebody on here will have what you need or know somebody who has, that can be sub contracted in.
  18. Get the biggest one you can get your grubby mits can get. Don't forget that the load on the anchor has been doubled by going through the pully, so make sure the anchor point is backed up.
  19. There are a number of safe approved techniques for dealing with branches in proxminity of HV lines, and a rope is not one of them due to its ability to conduct electricty. If you do not know what these techniques are, then don't do it Be safe people
  20. Go with what you can afford. So long as the chain is sharp, the wood will be cut. Personally i prefere a table saw over a processer, mainly due to coast. However i may change my mind when i have processed 200 cube this summer.
