  1. Needs some steak and Guinness that one Dodger.
  2. Good stuff Ady, but I've handled fallen fledglings which the parents have then reared? Not owls, mind. Looks lovely.
  3. Beat me to it Steve. Who/how will the checking be done?
  4. Are you Max from Woodchurch in Kent? Met you in the Six Bells a couple of times when we were taking down an Ash? Good luck with the work, whatever.
  5. The Oregon button braces on the trousers I am trialling for Les at the moment are head and shoulders above anything else out there.
  6. Great vid Taylor, horrible tree! Loved the combination of good rigging and no rigging when you could slap some pieces down. Well done to you and the ground crew. Rather you than me buddy!
  7. Well done mate, big tree and impressive, balanced rigging. Get yourself a pint and I'll reimburse you next time we meet up (English prices!). Good tunes as well.
  8. Very nice, tight eye there mate.
  9. Working on a biggish Lime yesterday. Ross Smith and Stevo took a break to smoke some opium. Dutchie was slightly confused by it all.
  10. Jesus Drew, try and get The Gump some strides before the Worlds will ya bro?
  11. Nod, Pics of Drew B's DMM anchor ring set up with the VT to limit sit-back and encourage grip are on Climbers Talk. Thread is 'self tending Helical hitch', and the pics are on page 2. Tom D. also has a thread up on it. Well done in the comp last weekend mate. Mark
  12. Smooth Rupe, thanks for posting (and wearing the cam!).
  13. RIP Henry and Ted. Who's third? Always threes.
  14. When we were scrapping away for pride in scruffy little gyms across the country, this man gave us something to fight for in the lower tier. Thanks Henry Cooper. Thanks Lionel and Bob at Croft House Boys Club in Sheffield Thanks our 'Enry - splash it on!
  15. RIP 'Enry. Gutted Rich.
  16. BTW Tom, the shackle measures 24mm internal diameter, so I'll go for the 26mm DMM to keep things neat. I'll put pics up when I've set up, although I'll probably be on the Ten o'clock news by then as the worlds most efficient tree surgeon now Stevie Blair has retired.
  17. AP all the way Matt. For true self tending I find you need a fair length of rope beneath you, and if I'm honest that doesn't happen to me that often any more! You'd have to talk to Ross Smith or Rich Rule who climb anything higher than a desk for me now. Until I get my Poison Ivy....
  18. Gutted Tone. She wouldn't keep it on when we got back....
  19. Loved it. Very positive bite, which I've struggled with on the VT, and minimal sitback. Drew explained that the ring stops the VT from 'opening' fully, which would explain the great grip, but think this may hamper the self-tending a bit? I'll have a play.
  20. So it's you that's undercutting me then.... Wise words mates. The problem is when you're slack you need more money! I think there are basically two pricing tiers. Time served tree blokes with tickets, insurance etc. and have a go gardeners/dids/kids with their daddy's farm toys etc.
