  1. Your HGV ticket is the key here I think. The market is flooded with climbers, but not so many lads can drive the big stuff. Good luck with it mate, and as Andy says, you could do a bit of agency driving to keep you afloat (just not at night eh?).
  2. No messing with the Beech there Tom. Like it.
  3. Stevie did you descend from there by walking down your brash pile?
  4. Sad. Took a few cherries down in a park in Ramsgate with Rob Broadley last year that had been killed by 'the big dog small cock' brigade. It's not the dogs that need shooting Deano....
  5. Big tree. I see it took a sheet of bark off that lump where it hit the Spaniel.
  6. Hardcore! I agree that spikes can make you lazy, and I enjoy swinging around much more without them. Sometimes I'd just be stuck without them though.
  7. I hear ya about the crown breakdown Matt, but watching someone take a stem down without spikes is like watching soft porn. It's just wrong.
  8. Is it Stevie Blair getting out of his hot tub?
  9. Can you post what they are when you find out mate? I tried to get some BF Goodrich AT's for my Transit this winter and they don't do them in the right size.
  10. What a gem of a thread! Took me a whole bottle of Bulmers to read it.
  11. My thoughts exactly Barrington. I think Peter made a very valid point about what is happening to the timber as well. If big lumps can be craned directly onto timber wagons or trailers, crane work can be very fast. Then some other poor sod has to do the ringing up at the yard as a 'reward' for an early finish....
  12. Dealing with 20' of heavy timber manually doesn't sound like it would take a couple of blokes more than a day, so it would be cheaper than a day rate for a crane, unless it is awkward. What do I know though. I'm fairly ininexperienced....
  13. Deano, your idea is excellent. Your groundies idea, however, is utterly piss-potical. I take it it was Luke?
  14. Nice James. Good tunes, and I'm always impressed with the way you sometimes take the time to make small improvements to gobs, move position slightly etc. when required. As an aside, a few 'dying' Eucs here in Kent are now flushing with vigorous epicormic growth. Strange breed, these Aussies....
  15. Good comments already. Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast....
  16. 130 can carry a lot more weight, Transit can carry a lot more volume. 130 is great off road, Transit is awful of road. 130 is generally high maintenance, Transit is pretty easy to keep sweet. You need to look at what the bulk of your work is before you make a decision. New Transits seem better on DERV than 130s, which is becoming a serious consideration. 130s resale will always be better though. Glad I could help....
  17. Got it Rupe. Fellitforahundredandeightyquidcashicus
  18. Thoughts are with you all Nick.
  19. Having a daughter who has started smiling at me. Having a wife who tolerates most of my behaviour. Benching 100kg. Stopping smoking. Putting in the effort to maintain friendships for years. Overcoming premature ejaculation difficulties.
  20. Sorry fellas, been away. Here's my set up, AP on Poison Hi-vy with a 26mm DMM ring. It's a pain getting the DF knots through the small ring, had to untie, pass them through and re-tie, but this advances really smoothly and locks every time, and cuts sit-back right down. Great tip Drew!
  21. Well spotted Matt. Death sandwich waiting to be eaten there!
  22. Thanks for all the replies. Jungle Formula etc. is all good, but DEET is a bit harsh to let my new baby nuzzle into my neck! I've just spent 10 days back in Northumberland, and my Mam had some Avon Skin so Soft dry oil spray. It worked so well I didn't even get bitten cycling round Kielder! Needless to say I'm about to order shed loads of it! Will also try the sandalwood soap because the little buggers often get me straight out of the shower. Re the antihistamine thing, I don't fancy taking them for the rest of my life, and I reckon the body would quickly build up a tolerance.
  23. I get a fair few of these from my wife.
  24. Ditto. NFU tried to impose a 6m height restriction. I asked for 33m and they said they would get back to me....
