  4. The thing that confuses me is that there are AAC's setting up satellite offices in other parts of the country and still advertising as 'approved'. Surley the satellite office or base and staff would have to be assesed individually to gain its status? Or the company would have to prove they are monitering and offering the same standards?

Just reading up on setting up our business, under the Ltd company section on the gouverment website it reads the following........ *Must have at least one director (two if it's a plc) who may also be shareholders. 16. Morning all, today is the first time I have woken up in a positive mind for ages! Last weds I left my role as arboricultural manager for my previous employers, after a few differences in views on the ethics of arboriculture, and becoming unhappy with the role, I was starting to think it was just me that was rubbish at my job!! It got me thinking about work and I started looking at other carrer paths to follow. After having a 12 hour day of fishing on Friday with a good mate to clear my head, I decided that I bloody love this job and dont want to do anything else, ive spent nearly 10 years learning the trade, ive climbed some stunning trees around the uk, met loads of awsome people, im nearing 30 and it was time to fufill a dream and set up on my own, it now or never. I have been overwhelmed by the support from friends and family (and other local tree care companies to some extent)who all believe in me and have helped me out with bits of kit etc. So on monday 8th of Feb 2010 taw and torridge tree services was born, I had my first job yesterday for a very nice customer, the phone has been very busy all week with people ringing for work, including 2 big estates............and im just off to start the log pile by cutting up some previously felled oak and ash stems in a stunning woodland for 2 days with the dog (not cutting the stems with the dog though) Would like to thank the people on arbtalk for keeping me hungry to suceed and for all the techniques, tips, photos and banter that people post. peace and love stu

  24. My old boss sent us to a site with a written job sheet that stated: 6 oaks, remove, thought it was well under quoted. When I knocked on the door and asked the customer to move her car in case I crushed it, She had a confused look at the distance of the car from the trees and started asking how the car could be in the way. After reading her (typed) copy of the job sheet it said 6 oaks, remove deadwood!! Thats one of them days you are glad the customer WAS at home!
  25. Got to keep myself entertained at the moment mate! I have decided that I am NOT and office person!! Not for long though!!!
