thats all good advice, but where is the best place to get pl insurance??

can anyone recomend any other companies in north devon/cornwall area, Ive looked on the aa web site and there is one, wessex!! Ive checked the local paper and yellow pages and there are tonnes of one man bands floating around. If anyone knows of anyother half decent people down that way please let me know. And also where is the best place to enquire about insurance, both public liability and personal, lots on the net, just need pointing in the right direction.

Im glad to hear that as Iam just starting out as a subbie in Devon after spending 4years as a crew leader in Leicestershire. Im very very excited, but bricking it at the same time!!!

I dont like wearing gloves, but on the few times I have during the winter I usually put some of those latex ones underneth the cheap builders ones, works a treat with keeping the heat in, and you still have a good grip.

None with a chainsaw, but lost the top of my finger to some short handled shears, which is a bit annoying seen as my fingers arnt that big anyway!

it would be worth letting the local scrap places know, with the price of metal at the mo stuff is being nicked and weighed in! Ive seen a lot of white transits driving around with a lot of 'waste' metal on them. Never know!!!

someone mentioned to me about a new tree saw thats made by a french company, im not sure of its name, but its ment to be smaller. anyone heard of this, or was my mate talking BS??

Hello, just a little bit about myself, I'm a fully qualified arborist currently staying in Hurley, Berkshire for a few weeks. I'm 27 years old and have been working for Beddow tree care in Leicester as lead climber/foreman for the past four years, before that I studied my National award in Arboriculture at Broomfield College in Derbyshire. I hold all of my relevant Nptc units (30,31,38 & 39, obtained from Askham and Bryant college in York), pre 99 driving licence (clean) and first aid cert. I am originally from North Devon and am moving back to the area in November. I am looking for some casual work in the Hurley/Henley area for the next couple of weeks and then will be looking for work in North Devon from mid/end of Oct.
