  1. Morning all, I'm having a few issues with my top handled saw today. One minute the chain is too tight (won't go round) so i adjusted it, and the next it is almost falling off the saw due to being too loose. I've checked the tensioner and that's fine, nose sprocket fine, chain and bar fine.......I'm confused.
  2. Done, good survey. Would be interesting to see the results
  3. I have one from elbow up and over shoulder, just peaks out from a tshirt. My other climber has one on back of neck and 2 on the side of his head and groundy has a few dotted about and tubes in each ear. I have no problem with them and have never had any comeback from customers, infact most of them are more interested in wether the ones on my climbers head hurt! I know it's normally the older generation who may take offence, but my nan at 75 has just had her first tat!
  4. Will be getting one soon as have honeymoon in may! Who's left then? Yeah, mr major does seem to be a good contact, will have to get him a nice thankyou gift
  5. Hi mate, yeah we got that job from simon. The traffic management side of the business has gone crazy, 2 gangs of 3 flat out since sept! I've just purchased one of highways 6.5t ivecos and just in the process of buying johns tw150. How's tricks down the posh end of the county?
  6. Mine seems to be able to sleep anywhere!
  7. Don't know what they were even climbing it for, looked like a straight fell to me
  8. And if your who I think you are I did meet you mum and Chris, in my local pub of all places
  9. Taking our mob out today, big brunch then a few beers round the local pubs. I got a nice gift from my subbie climber yesterday, went to pay him at end of day and he said "don't worry, call it a Christmas present to the company!"
  10. A lot of our customers pay by direct transfer, we put our details on the bottom of the invoice and hey presto it's normally in our account the next day.
  11. I live in Appledore, north Devon, and let's just say Kirsty allsop is not that popular round here! I think they have filmed there 'i'm minted and want a second home that I'm going to use once a year' program here about 8/9 times now. We also had the thing when the Jacksons came to live here for a bit, and it was like a bloody circus. Not many local people here own their homes, and affordable rentals are very difficult to come by.
  12. A few years back I was driving down to do some subbie work for Matt at east Devon tree care (gibbon on here) it was pelting it down with snow and was slow going along the north devon link road, got to Tiverton and all roads were shut, phoned Matt and cancelled. On way back we got diverted away from link road and sent behind plough towards bampton, plough got stuck so we all had to turn and head back to morrisons car park to await further instruction, on way back we came across 2 large oaks that had gone over and totally blocked the road, and one hung up about to go, being the good citizen that I am, and having all my gear in the back I started cutting to clear road, local farmer turns up with tractor and starts towing sections away. Just started to fell the hung up one and council turn up and asked what we were doing, asking why we had no traffic signs out, and said they didn't think it was a good idea to be working on the road in such conditions. They honestly thought we were just out felling roadside trees for firewood!!!!!
  13. Hi all, mate who does a bit of local odd jobbing has offered us his iveco daily, it's a very well looked after van but im guessing you would need category c1 on your licence? Just a few questions if I may. It's gross weight is 4.6, is it worth down rating to 3.5? What is involved in the down rating process? Are they any good as arb/traffic management trucks? If it is too much bother to get it sorted then we won't bother, but if it's an easy task then we will buy it. Any help please.
  14. It's ok, i can only see a photo I put up! Must be a glitch on me iPhone.
  15. ???? The photo shows my landy and dog! What's that about?
  16. Think I may just get one to hang on my wall!
  17. It's like having an on-line oracle at your fingertips.
  18. I know one of mike beddows guys is loler trained (beddow tree care, based in kirby muxloe)
  19. We get the normal 5,10,20's, wine, cider, food etc. But some of the most memorable things things people have given us are, an old stihl 64 with 34in bar, Honda rotivator, and the strangest one..... potted cannabis plants from an old couple who had quite a large collection in a big shed, i don't even smoke the stuff, but felt rude to refuse them!
  20. I have found stretch airs to last the longest, recently tried a pair of them husky ones and they lasted less than two months, gone back to stretch airs now.
  21. Didn't finish typing that! Way too many variables to give an average price.
  22. Cheapest removal I've done was £20, the most expensive was around the £2500 mark
  23. Always leave the site spotless, a good job and tidy garden will always be remembered by the customer.
