  1. Well I'm not in Blackpool anymore, need to update that, I'm in Melbourne
  2. I'm looking at getting the new ArbPro Cervino boots, anyone tried them yet? Tried them on in a shop earlier and they were amazingly comfortable.
  3. Hey Rob, sure am having fun mate. It was an experience being up a tree that big! The tree didn't half sway when the wind blew! I felt like I was swaying when I was back on the ground again. Definitely the biggest tree i have ever climbed!
  4. A lot of the reason why i am looking st it is because of working abroad where a lot of trees warranted SRT and that line stayed in during tree work but a lot in this country is probably ladder work which I understand but I am going to try and look at how long it would take to put in a second line not just the difference in rescue time and also number of times a changeover is required as when in an emergency under pressure the chance of making mistakes is increased and th climber conducting the rescue may be at a higher risk too. HR monitors will be used during the climbs in the experiments to see which techniques cause more stress to climbers. I am hoping a lot of information can come from this whole experiment and it will hopefully benefit everyone in the end
  5. Thanks for completing this so quickly for me, I will try and sort it out so that the results are available to everyone. Is anyone available in the North West area to carry out some climbs for the practical part of my experiment in the near future? Must have at least 3 years experience and if experience with SRT that would be a massive bonus
  6. Hi everyone, I am currently in my last year of the BSc Arb and sorting out my dissertation. I am looking at if and when a second line should be pre installed during tree work operations to reduce aerial rescue times in the event of an accident and also if other countries differ from that of the UK. If you could possibly take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire on the link below that would be a great help. The questionnaire is anonymous. Thanks in advance Aerial rescues within arboriculture Survey
  7. Sam I'm good thanks, Norway was great mate, hopefully going back in summer before I head to Canada, how u getting on? Where u at now? Paul
  8. I have emailed a few companies in the Vancouver area but I need a contract for my visa application and thought I would check on here if anyone new but thanks for the advice
  9. Just in my final year of the BSc Arb and trying to sort out some work in Vancouver for sometime in August, does anyone know of any vacancies? I am 23 and have four years climbing experience. Thanks Paul
  10. Possibly got some work coming up in rossendale and will need someone with van and chipper, should only be a couple hours max and shouldn't be a full load, anybody available? and how much would you want?
  11. Ive seen a length of OP spliced running through a ropeman, ropeman on to sliding D and splice to bottom Krab of climbing system so all you need to do to alter is pull it through the ropeman to get it closer and let it out for ascents, quick and easy and no chance of dropping the climbing system
  12. Anyone know when the results will be out?
  13. I really want to get in to this splicing, what tools do i need?
  14. Whats the ring for on the VT? Not seen that set up before
