  1. Thats what i thought Dave,i wouldnt like to realy on selling logs alone to make money all year round. But best off luck.
  2. I usually end up selling a couple of loades of "green logs" but i always tel them when they order and give them the choice, some don't mind as it makes em last longer!!!!!!!
  3. same as, If your doing gardens and grass its spot on, or are you doing trees and block paving with a bit of loppin and tarmacin aswell? if so then think again as you will look like a "Jack of all trades".
  4. All i have left is sold, Loadestogo at for next year as it is and more to come, there again i dont buy it in so its a bonus for me.
  5. Tut Tut Deerman and Jonsie, hang your heads in shame:001_rolleyes: I had the same last year and waited till about march, all it took was a polite PM to Lord Bullman and it was sorted, the rafflle is to help people thats why we all contribute and to be honest i aint that bothered if i dont win anything, Think your tone and starting a thread about it is piss poor IMO.
  6. Didnt realist you had to have a degree in English to ask a simple question, if your not going to help and give him an answer shut up.... I find a wire core flip line a pain for normal climbing, heavy and awkward, use a lanyard with something like a distel and a small pulley, a pulley or rope grab is better than just a prussik as you can shorten one handed and makes life sooo much easier.

    Stihl 192t

There a bloody good little saw to be honest, Like has been said were all guilty of comparing anything top handle with an ms200t,each has there merrits. when i go over th france again i will get another.
  8. Yes they do Stevie but it aint really worth the hassle, min of 28t, Artic access, load it your self so your gonna need a telehandler and it has to be clean, no bits of branches, soil, logs etc etc ! all for 6 quid a ton if ya lucky.
  9. Why bother? i would rather give the wood away to local people as free firewood, and as for the chip price......simply aint worth the hassle at that price. i give that away to the local horse place aswell.
  10. What again, jesus, therre gonna price themselves out of the market at this rate.
  11. What about parts thoughj, bars, sprockets, etc, i know they will be stocked somwhere but i can drive 5 miles in any direction and get to a stihl dealer, that does it for me but will still be interested in what you think.
  12. Good shots Scottie, i was just thinking where had you gone then saw this thread, wierd......how ya doing, long time no see. you still at Bartletts?
  13. Top man, we could bombard him with stupid emails.
  14. Not sure if it's free or not, but i WONT be in 10years time, as it becomes the norn banks will jump on the band wagon and charge just like paying in cheques. Remember 20 years ago when Diesel was peanuts cos almost no one had a diesel car cos they were almost like tractors, look now, very popular and the cost has shot up. It will still be quicker though and no bouncing so that will be worth the cost.
  15. There is charges though Rupe for internet banking, transfering money from paypal for one but yes i agree this is probably going to be the way forward, am going to start tell people about paypal payment and see how many take me up, be interesting.
  16. Most people still DO accept cheques though, its only the large firms that dont, Large fuel retailers, big supermarkets and large shops etc, most small firms and one man bands still have take cheque. i will consider the machine again if i can get the right deal, the lengh of time tied into a contract is really what put me off, a 3 year deal is to long to be tied to a supplier.

    only fools

Thanks Sean, only fools rock, will be watching.
  18. I looked into this last year but the charges put me off, if they come down it will be the way to go. most shops and garages use them but its ok if your doing a grand a day. think the best deal i got was £35 per month rental and 2.5% of all transactions, but min term was 3 years. You could soon start paying £100 a month or more just to use the machine and save a bit of time but its the way forward i think that and paypal. the dust thing will be an issue though.
  19. A chainsaw is a chainsaw, yes you still need cs30 (reasonably sure) to be covered by your insurance for commercial use. its the sharp bit there bothered about not how its powered.
  20. Yeah, its called a limited contract or so i have been told, there are rules though like min wage etc but you don't have to offer sick pay and payed holidays etc, sort of half way between s/e and employed but he is still on the books and you still have PAYE and NIC to do. A big firm near me who do insurance clean ups ofter fires and floods have my mates sis on a limited contract.
  21. I think 40 quid a day for a collage student is good to be honest. tis been a bit tight having to suply your own fuel and oil though. when i did work placement with collage i got sweet FA and had to travel 15 miles each way! dont complain or he is within his rights to pay you nowt, at least this way your covering your costs travel wise and have a bit spare to spend on a pint.
  22. Power pack im pretty sure mate, and i have a feeling there expensive.
  23. I get asked loades of times on domestic jobs if i need a leccy socket to plug my saw in! now you can John, that will look great hanging off the harness:lol:
  24. Not all stuff of ebay is crap! there are some good splitters on there just avoid the chinese ones there a bit iffy, i know i got one lol. Oxdale products are v good, tested one and a good price aswell. Why not get your mate to make you one then you can make it to your own spec and get plenty of power.
