  1. i thought they must of been knocked in as i couldnt see any traces from augering or digging. i thinks its a good option to offer people as a low cost alternative to mortised post and rail as its less labour intensive. well done for hand knocking them in too, down here ground is like concrete, i was snapping 8inch diameter posts last week whilst knocking them in
  2. looks good to me mate, i do alot of fencing and always find it interesting to see different styles / variations. what size did you make the posts?? look like quarters arent they??
  3. never seen cleft rails nailed on the faces of the posts, how well does it hold?
  4. first pic is the border of the flinders ranges in south australia, we went outback from port augusta and went up to alice springs via the flinders, gammon ranges, oonadata track. second pic was taken from the cab of my tractor in the vineyard where we were grape harvesting
  5. very tidy mate, wish mine came out as shiny as that!
  6. air in the hydraulic steering system making it heavy?? try jacking up the front and steering it from lock to lock for a few mins and see if any air bubbles appear in the reservior.
  7. try practicality brown, they got a 22" crane fed chipper on a forwarder with an 18 cube high tip chip bin on the back. they based down south but work country wide.
  8. bet you were sorry to see that go it must of been a proper nice machine, why did you sell it? looks like a snug fit with the flail mower and trailer on there too
  9. not worth the hassle, by the time u mount the hiab, grab and rotator and stab legs there is gonna be most of your payload gone, few timber poles mounted properly on the bunk and all ur gonna be able to carry on it is the ticket from the old bill saying ur overweight and that ur cabstar belongs in a mad max movie looking like that!!
  10. you after a cundy peeler?? or peeler pointer for fence posts??
  11. always wanted to go, 4 of us were gonna make the trip last year but money issues put pay to that. those converted wagons are big bucks, my friend who competes in british mx1 championship has one of those big american ford v10 dual fuel campers. absolute luxury!!!
  12. i know what you mean about having one for motorsport, usually we end up sleeping in the van with the bikes and kit but when we did the dawn til dusk enduro last year one of our mates took a big caravan and it was a revelation being able to sit at a proper table and cook proper food rather than eat bags of crisps with your feet up on the dash! How was erzberg this year?
  13. doesnt have to be a new caliper, see if you can get a replacement piston and seal kit first. if the piston isnt available sseperately then get some very fine emery and gently polish any corrision off it being careful not to linish the same aread too much and create a flat spot
  14. brake pads could be binding on the pins which retain them to the caliper, alternatively the piston on the side which isnt contacting could be seized
  15. yeah they common scraper tractors because of their size and turning ability. mine is early 60's i think, the previous owner had done a total bare metal overhaul and used to show it. we mow about 60 acres a year with it as well as powering a little rotoravtor. lovely little machines and nice and easy to work on
  16. nice find mate, i like seeing old vintage tractors. i got a mint vintage massey 35 all restored which does all the mowing where i cant fit with the mog
  17. i was wondering how the chipper was being fed, didnt realise the crane was mounted on the neck of the artic unit. i thought it was a seperate truck. nice kit on that job
  18. does the wheel appear to have any camber when you look at it??bent stub axle perhaps? does it have independent suspension units or is it a complete axle? if it has the first check the bolts that secure it are not loose as it would cause movement and change the angle of the wheel
  19. hello mate, hows tricks? did you have a good trip back to norway?? let us know when your over next and the steaks are on me this time!

  20. mine split after 6 months and were regularly cleaned and waxed, shame really as they are really nice comfy boots
