  1. what size tractor are you planning to take in there?? can you not lay down bog boards to disperse the pressure and aleviate the risk of damaging ground / services?? would a normal a 4x4 vehicle be allowed access or all vehicles banned??
  2. you can double tow with the first trailer loaded and the second empty. when i used to go dung spreading i would tow a 13 tonner on a beaver tail low loader and a 12 ton dung spreader behind that.
  3. no worries mate, the chipper rarely gets used in relation to the fleet of shredders due to the type of material that gets brought in for processing, all of which goes to the continent for their powerstations.
  4. the 5010 is a chipper and all other komptechs are shredders as far as im aware, all i know is that i throw stuff in 1 end with a 25 ton 360 and grab and it fills the bucket of the 996 cat shovel in a matter of minutes
  5. only big chippers i have fed are the komptech ones chipping wood for biomass, they seem to gobble it up pretty quickly but they are out of the realm for linkage mounting due to size and weight. the ones i load are all either roll on roll of or tri axle drag behind a 6 wheeler
  6. i had exactly the same problems with my 528 a while ago, and it turned out to be a dodgy wire on the roller restart buttons where they wire into the anti stress board. can you see the led flashing when the machine is in operation??
  7. looks like it doesnt clear the splitting chamber too well hence him shaking the hell out the thing to dislodge them
  8. i'll give him £50 for the front linkage!!!
  9. dave, cant you take it on site with you in the back of the chip wagon?? open the roof and let it do its thing whilst you sit there with ya feet up??
  10. mate you could always send them up to the fella who short changed ya to do some work!!!
  11. are they the same ones pictured in the local news paper with their chip trucks and caravans parked up on the green near singleton barn??
  12. there is a u900 pick up hitch on fleabay at moment for 250 notes
  13. im 25 at moment but even when i was your age i never paid more than 450 on any of my trucks
  14. i pay 320 fully comp all mods declared, ie tipper body, suspension and wheels, winches etc. swapping to the tipping body will move the load higher due to the tip frame sitting ontop of the lift chassis, you could try and make it sit within the rails but the hydraulic ram would contact the diesel tank if you werent careful
  15. i run lancruiser pickup springs on my hilux which has a few extra leaves per pack, alternatively you can buy "add a leaf kits" which has been already suggested
  16. built my tipper bed for my mk4 hilux for under £300, its a shortened transit tipper so it means the ram is right at the front of the load bed which means it really tips well
  17. Ratchet Straps & Tie Downs: Cargo Straps for Truck, Motorcycle, Mobile Home & Canoe Hood Lashing Straps UK massive range of straps shackles, chain ratchets etc from .5 ton to 25 ton swl , online ordering and delivery. i have used them before and was very happy with products and service
  18. thats another story....dont wanna derail the thread!!!
  19. see the pictures on my profile album. twin winches with uprated alternator and batteries 8x6 tipper body heavy duty suspension with 7.5 inch lift 3inch body lift 37inch tyres
  20. engine power is the only downside to the hilux, and the towing capacity is a bit low but i have owned 2 hiluxs and you will struggle to break them. i run a hilux tipper on 37" tyres and it goes all the places my defenders did plus alot further. my current one tows a laden 16ft ifor williams or a 528 jensen daily and i have just changed the original clutch at 130,000, apart from that i havent touched it mechanically. Excellent motors, perhaps the only thing tougher in terms of taking abuse is a 79 series land cruiser or nissan patrol chassis cab
  21. gardening is what u make of it......personally i dont think enough explosives are used for weeding patios and all rotorvators should be 4meters wide and hung off the back of a 250 hp tractor!!
  22. i would start a fresh rather than trying to make good that base, quad trailers are great if you keep them in proportion to the quad so you can get into tight access areas between trees etc. if your gonna keep the trailer that width you would be better off having a small tractor or 4x4 on the front, also there would be alot of nose weight when fully loaded due to the legth between axle and hitch. the drawbar being an A frame rather than single tube would also restrict the turning ability if the hitch on the quad sits tight to the back axle between the wheels. i would take axlec cables and hitch and buy a few quids worth of box section steel and make from scratch.........get yourself a project on the go!!
  23. Trade Fire Retardant Timber|Plywood|Medite and boarding supply - Creffields look in their plywood section. i think the stuff your after is similar to wisa board
