  1. depends on what the flow rate and pressure the pump can produce, it should have double acting hydraulics on the dumper ie power up and power down so technically it should run a splitter fine. i have seen dumpers made into carriers for linkage mounted post knockers and run them with ease so you may be in luck. You could always disconnect hoses from the ram on the dumper and join them to the splitter to give it a try before getting the gas out!
  2. clean the motor casing off with a wire brush, find the part number then go the the local motor factors and they should match the numbers, alternatively take it off and vernier the mounting holes, diameter of motor etc and go look through a auto electrical catalogue and compare them to the measurements you have taken
  3. i recently brought a 10 ton grain trailer with a 6.5m forestry crane on to go behind the mog. Drawbar has been lengthened so that when u turn tight the chipbox cant contact the crane in any way. operator stands on a platform behind the kingpost and can see down both sides of the trailer to load and into the trailer to unload. Jas p Wilson did the original conversion to it
  4. have you aligned the giggle pin and laughter shaft?
  5. cant you adjust the chain tesioner so it sits in the bar hole
  6. will post some pics of it next week when its all connected up together to go stock fencing
  7. i run a mog for fencing and its a damned good set up. kinghitter post knocker mounted on high lift front linkage, posts on rear body and wire unwinder on rear linkage whilst still towing my 16ft ifor with additional materials in. 3 seats in the cab and enough storage space for digging tools, buckets of staples etc so no need for a second vehicle on site which cuts down costs alot. get the right tyres on it and it will go anywhere u need to go fencing and if it does get stuck its too wet to put the fence up and your strainers will pull or twist out when u tension the wire up!!
  8. Rich, i reckon the digger lurking ontop of the hedge in the last pic helped you out on that one mate!!!!
  9. i recently brought a tp250 from an arbtalk member, would be fine behind a 130 hp tractor......... heavier than the farmi 260 but still damned good chipper. like others say you would need a trailer with a special drawbar
  10. just dont do this!!! watch the guy at the end smoking as fuel pours out next to him. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2La1THaq44]YouTube - Suzuki SJ crash Funny[/ame]
  11. get it jacked up and on stands, wrap a strap round the end of hitch and crank it up so it compresses the damper and activates the brakes.......... then adjust as necessary so they are not binding yet working hard before the end of the damper stroke.
  12. c'mon people get ur names down for a few beers and a bit of grub, will be good to see some familiar faces and put a few faces to names. most of us know what the Gross weight of what each other is driving or what issues they are having with their chipper but wouldnt recognise them to speak to in person if they are standing next to them......... Go on ya know u wanna
  13. not sure if im thinking the same as ed but you could try paladin fencing as an alternative, cheaper and lighter to put up but down side is you can cut through it with bolt croppers
  14. i put up 6 bays for the council today 2950 x 2000 bays with 50 x 50 x 3000 posts and that came to 1200 quid materials only
  15. 7M telehandler ie 530 jcb will lift and carry a 20ft container easily if you use a 4 legged chain and go to each twist lock hole in the top and then lift from the centre, alternatively if you have only got a loader tractor, lift one end of the container up high and reverse the trailer under it, lower it down then go to the rear of container and shove it forwards with loader onto bed of trailer. simples.
  16. Best get a few more 8 wheelers on order then mate!!! u can get a variety of buckets to sift / sort material. how big is the site? what are the ground conditions like?
  17. depends on who is stirring the sticks on the digger!!
  18. just buy the timbermaster skyline on ebay and be done with it!!! lol
  19. A&B services Scotland Jas P wilson Scotland Andrew Holmes Wales Fuelwood Warwickshire Caledonian Forestry Scotland Corwen Forestry Wales Marshall Engineering Sussex Jonathan Latham Kent Lamberhurst Engineering Kent
  20. thought i recognised it, im sure i got outbid on it!! werent you selling loads of other nices goodies at the same time??
  21. was that 8110 on ebay a while back??
  22. a shaped blade ie a cresent cut out the face so it grips the wood top and bottom will stop it from running out and splitting straight. the one my mate built is from the masts of 2 forklifts welded end on end. splits on the up stroke of 1 mast, when thats at full extension you pull the other lever to extend second mast and retract the first whilst splitting a second rail.
  23. what typre of paling diameter are you looking for?? is it the small pales in a roll wired together?? my friend has a splitter for clefting rails in 9ft 6 lengths that works really well, didnt cost much to build
  24. Too narrow and unstable on banks..............the reason i sold mine was because of this and it had dual wheels with weights and underbody weights.
