  1. :001_smile:Looks like a branch: of dixons in the dark
  2. Could it not be a hire machine? Local hewden hire depot uses greenmech and they are all sprayed yellow and generally have blackchevrons on
  3. look in the boot of ya wifes car!!
  4. i built a tipping body for my 2001 hilux, found that multi stage telescopic ram was a better option than a scissor type lift but getting clearance for the tipping gear above the diesel tank was tight. as the body lifts the bottom of the cylinder moves in a small arc and you had to leave clearance for this.
  5. might go have a look, not too far away. it says its in a village near me but phone number comes up as near london. and yup thats an old jensen certainly not a timberwolf
  6. want the FC doing free hedging plants last year?? there was something in the kent messenger about it
  7. £5 per meter supplied fitted for softwood posts and HT wire. 400meters is about day and a halfs work
  8. knock a slighty larger torx (star drive) bit into the all an slot, it will cut into the edges of the hex then wind them out
  9. those old fastracs were good, company i do a bit for had 3 of the newer ones and if i had to take one of them out i would choose the old 3185, proper manual spool valves that you can lock in rather than electronic ones that constantly pop out like on the newer 3220 and 3190 they had.
  10. That trailer looks familiar! Did you get it from a chesnut coppice cutter in Kent?
  11. Yup that's the same as the one I currently have, rebuilt the bearing block with new seals etc but I need the smaller centre shaft that goes from the splined flange through the block. Cheers for you help David, will try the usual suspects for mog spares and see how much they want
  12. the 21 spline shaft is the one sticking out the back which you couple the implement shaft to. i did think of changing the yoke to a 540 6 spline but the mog shaft is a bit knackered from use by a previous owner! front shaft is the 1"3/4 currently and wont fit the front pto reverser gearbox which is 1"3/8. worth a try!!!
  13. has anyone got a 21 spline rear pto shaft to fit a 424.121 u1000 mog also looking for the standard size 1" 3/8 front pto shaft to fit into the pto reverser gearbox. cheers
  14. whatever you put it on make sure its got low gearing ie creeper box, i had someone doing some mulching in an orchard and even with a big hp tractor it was constantly on the clutch rather than a constant creep
  15. heavy, needs plenty of hp!! what ya cutting with them and what ya mounting them on?
  16. funny story. plant hire firm tried to collect a 18ton excavator with a rigid plant lorry that was far too small. tracked machine onto the deck, guy chained it on then slewed round and picked up the buckets up at full stretch lifted them up and flipped the lorry ontop of the digger. crane company sent a 50ton all terrain crane out to upright everything but it sank through the fresh tarmac drive that had just been fitted and couldnt move. i was sent over there with the CAT D8 to drag the crane out..........40 odd ton dozer on recently laid tarmac makes a mess!
  17. :confused1:Does anyone know where i can find out information regarding GM87 -Schedule of Rates For Grounds Maintenance 1987. Prepared by the Depatment for Business Enterprise & Regulatory Reform and published by the Building Cost Information Service (BCIS) of the Royal institute of Charted surveyors. Tried google but only got snippets of wording rather than any figures or information. HELP!!!
  18. when i say work i mean they rescued a digger for me and i rescued a crane for them!
  19. mark, try these people savage homepage they are over in maidstone. have done some work with them in the past
  20. i was burning artic loads of demo wood waste to keep the rhodies alight. well suited to dry timber than anything green.
  21. i spent weeks with one trying to get rid of acres of rhodies, didnt get on with it too well with it to be honest. the output i was told i could achieve from the people hiring it was noway near the output i was getting
  22. siamax engineering or auto lift do tipper conversions for jap 4x4's, alternatively just build one cost me about £350 to do my single cab truck
  23. has it not got a limited slip diff in the rear axle?? if you go the air lockers route you may have to uprate half shafts as they have a tendancy to snap if u give it too much beans and you have too much traction......something has to give. alternative is a detroit locker, they are damned good off road and not so harsh on drive trains. end of the day alot of it is down to the driver, if it looks like you shouldnt be there then probably you shouldnt!!! from experience i have found with both my defenders and both my hiluxs, big tyres and diff locks just get you stuck that much further in!!!
  24. make a small steel box that then engine will fit in, put a hinged side that can be padlocked, then cut a hole in the opposite side big enough to get the sawhead and shaft through. now get a piece of steel tube slightly bigger than the whole you cut and weld it to the box you have made. totally secure site box that will fit a pole saw, keep it out of sight and cheap to make
  25. got a few bits to do on the farm firmst but hopefully should be done mid morning, what time is it on til?
