  1. i imagine they can be really good on some stuff but not for rhodies, i was burning waste timber by the 40yard skip load to keep it alight and wasnt getting no where near the volume of material burnt as what i was told
  2. alright mate, i remember you saying you knew a haulier up your way that came down south alot, might need an old timber crane picking up from scotland and bringing down to kent. you got any contact details

    cheers

  3. raking stuff into windrows and burning generally is quick and cheap way of doing it, i know i have used it in past many a time. tried a airburner once on a big clearance job but didnt have much luck with it
  4. 300 is for the machine alone hire alone you will then pay delivery if you havent the means to transport it yourself. like most vehicles they are easy to drive but to get a good effect takes a little more practice. i did a clearance job in a school with 14ft tall brambles and couldnt see sod all as i was going throught it but in the end when i was done it looked like a good consistent level without clumps of material left
  5. yeah it is mate, last time i had from them i asked for it to be sent on their small plant lorry and it turned up on a quad axle artic so muggins here has to track it a half mile through london streets.......oh the looks i got at the lights
  6. tracked skidsteer with mulcher head if site is dry with no real hard gradients, easily copes with brambles and trees upto 4 inch diameter. i pay 300 per day for a 110hp tracked skidsteer and fae mulcher. you will easily do that amount in a day
  7. yeh good ta, had a few days up in alton towers. missus works for kent messenger and managed to get cheap hotel and free tickets to the park. if u google my company name u will see what my firm is about

  8. gareth / garth doesnt matter really. my company name is linden services

  9. to be honest its gonna be a bit small and by sounds of it too pricey for what i want. im really looking for 10 - 12 ton capacity trailer also at moment i need to spend some money on mog and digger

  10. how much reach and how much can it lift?

  11. bethersden fencing?? i know graham laws fencing and four season fencing in betherden if its one of those 2. what fmv is it?

  12. alright mate, got ya message the other day but was on holiday and the missus put me on a work related phone ban!

  13. ha ha ha i did that earlier but instead of landing in dog crap i whacked my head on the weight frame of the tractor, 2 lessons learned from this: first: tie your laces second: dont park tractor so close to back door you cant fall out of said door without landing on machinery
  14. im there with any luck, missed every other show this year so will be good to meet some of you lot
  15. goodwinch / david bowyer make the bak rak towball mounted winch fitting kits, would be easier to have 2 sections of box that slid into one another tightly and pins going through them to lock together then a mount on the end of it. fully demountable, cheap and strong (if you lean on the welder!!!)
  16. electric winches are hard on batteries under maximum load, mine draw about 500 amps on a good pull. you have seen my truck mike with the twin winches. i run 2 optima winch batteries with an uprated alternator. i would go for superwinch over warn as my 9.5xp fell to bits in under a year where as my husky 10 and x9 are going strong. have you considered a hydraulic winch run off the chippers own hydraulics?
  17. looking for 4k for it. all in good working order with new speed sensor on flywheel, full filter and fluid change, new hydraulic motor on infeed, new infeed roller bearing, new tyres.

comsmetically untidy as paint has faded but mechanically good, only reason im selling as i have brought a big pto chipper for the mog

  18. as andy said some sites require it, no card no work. for the little amount it costs and the small amount of time it takes you may as well do it as you will be kicking youself if you get refused work. i have both cscs and cpcs cards
  19. i see your truck around my way plenty of times and thought it looked on the big side of 7.5 ton!!!
  20. if the tank has got alot of crap floating around at the bottom (common if you fill from cans frequently) take the tank off and steam clean it out, shake as much water as u can out of the tank then use a hot air gun like the decorators use in the filler neck to warm the tank through and evaporate any water
  21. the terminals have different sized poles so will only fit the leads and wiring one way unless you took a drill to them and reamed the ring connectors out, i dont remember doing this so i decided to pull the guts out the new solenoid tonight and found the so called "new" solenoid was rusty inside and the terminals had stuck in the engaged position.
  22. 300ft of chain, 300hp and a heavy right foot. not only will it remove the stump it will send it back to your yard via air mail.
  23. its 2 main poles. 1st is the motor supply and the 2nd is the battery positive lead which also has the alternator output wire on and finally it has a small screw terminal at the side which the ignition wire connects to. been checking through wiring diagrams and all i have done is correct, starting was never an issue with old solenoid but this has me baffled, i thought perhaps the contacts could be stuck inside the solenoid but if the ignition wire is disconnected then surely it wouldnt engage
  24. whilst changing a battery lead on the mog the other day the cap on the starter solenoid split in 2 around the terminal pole. i replaced it with another solenoid exactly the same dimensions, voltage etc but with a different part number but told was a compatible part. now when i connect the battery terminal the starter engages on its own?? i tried it with ignition wire disconnected and it still does it???? any ideas?
  25. i joined a similar thing to constructionline about 6 months ago, some aspects are good like industry contacts, pre qualification tips and advice etc also like has said before alot of construction and utility companies now want construction line registered contractors. the downside i found was getting bombarded by a huge amount of emails, literature from them and companies they shared my details with!!
