  2. we had a patrol pick up for running diesel out to the skidder for the firm i used to work for in New South Wales and even with a 1000 litre bunded fuel bowser in the back it would pull like hell on hills
  3. When i was in australia i worked part time as a fitter in a 4x4 workshop preparing trucks for overland trips around australia. i found that the toyotas whether it be hilux or land cruiser were down on power in relation to the other maunufacturers equivalent model but were the only one that was able to put up with constant abuse. nissan patrols were damned good in either chassis cab or conventional style. l200 and shoguns steering and suspension werent built very tough and i was regularly doing replacements.
  4. 341 is 5.5kg and 4.2 hp 361 is 5.6kg and 4.6hp i got a 361 and its a damned good saw, in 3 years hasnt given me any problems at all

  7. with 37inch tyres and towing every day absoulutely sod all!!! 300 to a tank??!! the tipping gear of a written off 54 reg transit i got off ebay. i cut it down to 2.7m x1.8 and made the mountings up to fit the hilux, the actual alloy tray is from an australian spec hilux. also the ram is really close to the front so it has lot and lots of lifting power
  8. yeah im on there mate, tho havent signed on for about 6 months. there are loads of photos of my blue hilux on there, user name flat back lux. i built the tipping body on the hilux for£350, best bit of home engineering i have ever done!! lol
  9. new lower A arms and hub adaptors, put in an additional crossmember on the chassis too. i dropped the anti roll bar mounts to match and i also dropped the diffs to retain correct driveshaft angles
  10. the silver hilux in my pics has 5.5 inch ifs suspension lift, +2 inch shackles, +2inch torsion bars, 3 inch body lift, 37" tyres and tipper conversion with rear mounted superwinch husky and front mount warn xp9.5 blue truck had an x6 superwinch originally in a homemade bumper but i snapped the gearbox off so i modified my bumper and put that husky 10.5 in there
  11. not always chainsaw, guy who does my hedgecutting has got rotary head on his big mcconnell and he can "lean" on timber upto 5"inch diameter and pulverise it to ground level. that works better on big timber than a flail or he has a 3ft sawblade for real big stuff. mind u a good mulcher will do the job too
  12. 31x10.50x15 really shouldnt stick out too much, i run 37x12.50x15 on my mk4 hilux and they only just outside arches and also fitted on big rims like ones above

  14. customer of mine has a small gravity fed one and its terrible, was sold it by large local garden supplier under impression it would be suitable for what they want and it was useless
  15. i havent personally but got number of a used one for sale in essex. £2850+vat. also fuelwood are adverising used ones on plant trader website.
  16. where abouts are you based? i read you said johnathan had an ex demo one for sale but was too far away?
